We are in the peak of our fall colors! As we step outdoors we are in a colorful salad bowl of oranges, reds and yellows surrounding us in the Mahoosuc Mountain range!

It was been a busy summer/fall here with some very exciting canoe trips. Polly was fortunate to paddle the Allagash with legendary guide, Gil Gilpatrick, on the Allagash's 50th anniversary. We did our first Way of the Wabanaki canoe trip to Sugar Island in the Penobscot River. It was a huge success and we are already looking forward to next summer's trip. Kevin paddled the Yukon River in Alaska this summer with Arctic Wild (owned and operated by one of our previous apprentices) and we are co offering a trip next July on the Yukon River along with a friend who lived on this section of river and trapped and ran sled dogs here for 10 years back in the 70's. Our 2017 summer schedule is now up on our website.

We are booking dogsledding trips now for this winter's season. We offer day trips with a lunch warmed by a campfire or overnight trips either camping or cabin based. All food and specialized winter gear is provided. Some weekends are already full so don't hesitate to reserve a trip for an unforgettable once in a lifetime experience!

Nola who was 16 years old traveled on to the great doggy heaven on October 5th. She lived a good long life here at Mahoosuc and was fortunate with good health until her day of passing. We miss Nola...

We found a very good home for Mrytle in downeast Maine. She is happily chasing mice in the fields and has become a couch potato!

We just hosted a beautiful wedding here at our lodge with people flying in from around the world. What a perfect setting for people who love the mountains!

October 30-31st we still have room on our Wilderness First Aid course taught by Jon Tierney of Wilderness Medical Associates. Contact us for reservations.

Hope to see some of you on the trail this winter! The dogs are anxiously waiting the cooler weather and snowy trails!

Until then...   Polly & Kevin & all the doggies
