The beaches were packed this weekend with vacationers celebrating both Dia del Trabajo (Labor Day) and Dia de la Santa Cruz (Day of the Holy Cross). 

There are four more local and regional holidays and festivals in May, including Cinco de Mayo / Batalia de Puebla (Battle of Puebla), Dia de las Madres (Mother’s Day), Dia del Maestro (Teacher's Day), and the 11-day Patron Saint's Festivities of Our Lady of the Rosary coming up on May 10-20 in La Peñita. We will post a calendar of events on Jaltemba Bay Folk as soon as it becomes available. To find out what else is happening, read through the information below and take a peek at our Event Calendar

UNETE and Rotary Clubs Remodel High School in Las Varas

Over 100 volunteers from the Rotary Clubs from Jaltemba La Peñita, Mexico and Berkeley, California, USA along with 25 participating North American Rotary Clubs have arrived in Nayarit to begin a month-long project to remodel La Preparatoria 20 de Noviembre in Las Varas, Mexico.
