DECember 2021

So, this is Christmas and what have we done?

In the famous words of John Lennon, this is the time of year when we look back and ask ourselves what have WE done?

We hope that COMPASS this year has given you some insight into the changes in environmental and chemical legislation - and the many EPR projects taking place around the world.

Last week, Nick and I were at E-Waste World Conference & Expo in Frankfurt. The visitors to our booth came from every continent on the planet, which gave us the stark reminder that EPR is now a global cause: so many countries are looking at ways to tackle their waste and resource problems.

COMPASS this month covers developments from South America to Africa. The Policy & Compliance Updates are also packed with news, reflecting the many legislative actions currently taking place in Europe.

For now, we would like to wish you all a very happy (and waste-free) Christmas and New Year!

Thank you for reading this year. What topics should we cover in 2022? Please let us know at compass@landbellgroup.com

Making the most of the resources in electronics
Training recyclers on how to manage batteries and e-waste plastics.

Many recyclers in low- and middle-income countries have already found ways to extract and repurpose valuable components coming from e-waste. However, in the absence of know-how, necessary infrastructure, as well as EPR legislation that would help finance it, material with low or no economic value is not managed properly.

e-Waste is everybody’s problem
