IRO Webinar-Reihe Witterung mit Jeremias Janki

In diesem dreiteiligen Webinar wird Grundwissen über Thermik und deren Einbezug in die Sucharbeit vermittelt. Das Seminar richtet sich an einsatzorientierte Hundeführer.

Die Webinare finden online via ZOOM jeweils von 19.00 – 20.30 Uhr statt und werden in Deutsch und Englisch abgehalten.

Kosten: Der Teilnahmebeitrag für Einzelseminare beträgt jeweils 30 EUR, für alle drei Seminare insgesamt 75 EUR.

Frank Kania –
Die Mantrailing-Koryphäe
|
|
Frank Kania lebt seit seiner Kindheit mit Hunden. Seit etwa 40 Jahren arbeitet er mit ihnen in verschiedenen Sparten, in den letzten zehn Jahren ausschließlich in der geruchsdifferenzierenden Personensuche, also Mantrailing und geruchsspezifische Flächensuche.
In den ersten Jahren ging Frank selbst noch in Einsätze, später konzentrierte er sich voll auf seine Ausbildertätigkeit. Für das InterNational Bloodhound Training Institute (INBTI) in den USA war Frank Kania als Instrukteur und Organisator von Seminaren unterwegs.
Seit fünf Jahren leitet er die International Mantrailing Academy, ein internationaler Zusammenschluss von professionell arbeitenden Hundeausbildern. Dort trainiert er mit Polizei, Militär, Sicherheitskräften und Rettungshundeführern – aber auch mit reinen Sport-Hundeführern – in ganz Europa, Lateinamerika und Afrika.
Frank Kania wurde für sein Engagement schon mehrfach von verschiedenen Organisationen ausgezeichnet.
Wir freuen uns auf die weiterführende Zusammenarbeit mit Frank Kania im Zuge der Mantrailing-Ausbildung für unsere IRO Trainer.

Über uns: Vedran, der umtriebige Marketingexperte
|
|
|
Vedran bei Filmaufnahmen mit einem etwas anderen Vierbeiner 😉
Vedran engagiert sich seit November 2017 als ehrenamtliches Mitglied im IRO Vorstand. Er ist leidenschaftlicher Rettungshundeführer und das spürt man auch. In seiner Funktion als Referent für Marketing & PR trägt er mit viel Herz und Wissen zur Weiterentwicklung der IRO und Stärkung der Markenbekanntheit bei. Besonders glücklich ist er über die wunderbare Unterstützung, die er aus der Marketingabteilung der IRO Geschäftsstelle erfährt.
Seit mehr als 16 Jahren ist Vedran Rettungshundeführer bei Croatian Rescue Dog Organisation (CRDA), wo er auch als Trainer tätig ist. Für die IRO ist er seit 2019 als Internationaler Richter aktiv. An der Rettungshundearbeit begeistern ihn am meisten die Menschen und das gute Gefühl beim Training. Zu sehen, wie die Herzen der Hunde schneller schlagen und ihre Ruten heftig wedeln, wenn sie sich der „Geruchsquelle“ nähern, ist für ihn ein besonders erfüllender Moment.
Die Arbeit mit Tieren fasziniert ihn so sehr, dass selbst sein beruflicher Alltag davon geprägt ist. Er ist nämlich als Tierkoordinator und Trainer im internationalen Filmwesen tätig.
Vedrans Lebensmotto lautet – Lächle viel, träume groß und hab Spaß!

Änderungen in der
IRO Geschäftsstelle
|
|
Nach sechs Jahren in der IRO Geschäftsstelle verlässt uns Dr. Andrea Thuma, die zunächst im Ausbildungsreferat und seit 2018 als Generalsekretärin tätig war. Sie verbrachte 2021 in Bildungskarenz und steht der IRO noch bis Ende dieses Monats für Projekte zur Verfügung.
Andrea hat die Geschäftsstelle mit Umsicht, Einfühlungsvermögen und großem persönlichen Einsatz geleitet. Wir bedanken uns bei ihr für die tatkräftige und innovative Arbeit und wünschen ihr beruflich wie privat alles erdenklich Gute! 💙⭐
Wie im letzten Jahr bleibt Kathrin Schiestl Ansprechpartnerin für Andreas Agenden.

IRO Webinar series Scent with Jeremias Janki

This three-part webinar provides basic knowledge about thermals and their inclusion in search work. The seminar is aimed at mission-oriented dog handlers.

The webinars will take place online via ZOOM from 7.00 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. and will be held in German and English.

Frank Kania –
the Mantrailing legend
|
|
Frank Kania has lived with dogs since childhood. For about 40 years he has been working with them in various fields, in the last ten years exclusively in scent-differentiating search for persons, i.e. Mantrailing and scent-specific Area Search.
In the first years Frank went on missions himself, later he concentrated fully on his training activities. For the InterNational Bloodhound Training Institute (INBTI) in the USA, Frank Kania was on the road as an instructor and organiser of seminars.
For the last five years he has been the head of the International Mantrailing Academy, an international association of professionally working dog trainers. There he trains with police, military, security forces and search and rescue dog handlers – but also with pure sport dog handlers – all over Europe, Latin America and Africa.
Frank Kania has received several awards from various organisations for his commitment.
We look forward to continuing the collaboration with Frank Kania as part of the Mantrailing education programme for our IRO Trainers.

Live translators needed for IRO Events
|
|
You speak English and German at a high level and can easily express yourself in both languages when it comes to search and rescue dog work? If so, register as a volunteer IRO Translator at the IRO Office.
Expenses and daily allowance will be reimbursed by IRO.

Meet the team: Vedran, the bustling marketing expert
|
|
|
|

Vedran has been an honorary member of the IRO Board since November 2017. His passion for search and rescue dogs is obvious. In his role as Marketing & PR Spokesperson, he contributes to the further development of the IRO and strengthening of brand awareness with a great deal of heart and knowledge. He is especially happy about the wonderful support he receives from the marketing department at the IRO Office.
For more than 16 years, Vedran has been a search and rescue dog handler with Croatian Rescue Dog Organisation (CRDA), where he also works as a trainer. For the IRO, he is active as an International Judge since 2019. What excites him most about search and rescue dog work are the people and the good feeling during training. Seeing the dogs' hearts beat faster and their tails wag wildly when they approach the "source of the scent" is a particularly fulfilling moment for him.
He is so enthusiastic about working with animals that even his professional life is influenced by it. He works as an animal coordinator and trainer in the international film industry.
Vedran's motto in life – Smile often, dream big and laugh a lot!

Changes in the IRO Office
|
|
After six years in the IRO Office, Dr. Andrea Thuma, who first worked in the Training Department and since 2018 as Secretary General, is leaving us. She spent 2021 on educational leave and is still available to the IRO for projects until the end of this month.
Andrea has managed the office with dedication, empathy and great personal commitment. We thank her for her vigorous and innovative work and wish her all the best, both in her career and in her private life! 💙⭐
As last year Kathrin Schiestl remains contact person for Andreas' tasks.
