Emerging Leaders/Young Professionals
The Emerging Leaders Committee officially launched their mentoring program and have collected a good number of mentees, but are currently seeking more mentors to pair them with. This is a great opportunity for FMs to gain valuable leadership and communication skills, while giving back to the Facility Management community, and any IFMA, BOMA or CoreNet member is eligible to become a mentor.
The program is free for members and will kick off with a mixer event, where mentees and mentors will be able to “interview” each other and pair up with whom they think most fit their needs and schedules.
Recommended activities for mentorship include:
- Meetings over coffee or lunch
- Attending an educational session or conference proceeding together
- Attending an IFMA organized social or networking event together
- Attending a site visit on a project your mentor is working on
- Spending an afternoon shadowing your mentor in their workplace
Mentors can sign up for the program here and mentees can sign up here.
