LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT
This fall season will be activity packed as we continue to work with the mayor’s office (landlord/tenant sustainability challenge), schools (mentorships and educational awareness), and other chapters to produce educational programs, panel discussions and special events for our members.
On Monday, September 12, Humanscale hosted the Ergonomics Toolbox Luncheon presentation focused on designing healthy work environments by exploring current client oriented challenges. On Wednesday, September 21, Knoll hosted the Improving the BMI of Your Workplace panel discussion. Attendees learned from four expert panelists on how achieving better health and well being within the workforce, can save your organization some money and the mechanisms FM’s can use to do this. The Annual IFMA NYC Golf and Tennis Outing was held on Monday, September 26 at Knollwood Country Club. This year’s event featured raffle prizes, a sports memorabilia auction, great networking and friendly competition! I am happy to share that we presented a donation check for $20,000 to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital while the Golf Outing participants enjoyed dinner. This donation is a reflection of the commitment and dedication of our committee members, volunteers and sponsors and the positive impact they have on the New York City community.
Over 60 members of the IFMA NYC chapter will be heading to San Diego for the 2016 IFMA World Workplace Facility Conference & Expo. The conference will be from October 5-7 and aims to foster growth through dedicated support and brings FMs together to share narratives as part of the universal story of FM. In addition, this month’s Members-Only Networking Breakfast will be hosted by Humanscale on Thursday, October 13.
