LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT
We are looking forward to an activity packed November followed by the holiday season. We will continue to work with the mayor’s office (landlord/tenant sustainability challenge), schools (mentorships and educational awareness), and other chapters to produce educational programs, panel discussions and special events for our members. Considering these opportunities, please take time to check our website to find what things may interest you. As an IFMA member (over 20 years), my engagement in various committees is where I’ve unlocked value to contribute to my success as a professional.
From Wednesday October 5- Friday October 7, over 60 chapter members attended IFMA's World Workplace Conference & Expo in San Diego, CA. The NYC chapter enjoyed luncheon at Searsucker San Diego and got together for a cocktail reception at the San Diego Marriot. On Thursday, October 13, Humanscale hosted the Members-Only Networking Breakfast and on Tuesday, October 25 Ted Moudis hosted the New Member Breakfast, giving our new members a chance to meet the board members and learn about the chapter. On Tuesday, November 1, 20 young members took a private tour of the VOYA Financial Corporate Headquarters. The tour was organized by the Y.E.L.P. committee and hosted by Facility Manager, Howard Pobliner.
Today, Interface is hosting the Commercial Renovations in NYC Toolbox Luncheon. This seminar features co-founders & partners at NDNY, Mary K Chandrahasan and Ananth R Sampathkumar who are presenting on the processes involved in undertaking a renovation or interior fit out. On Monday, November 10, Humanscale will host the November Members Only Networking Breakfast and on Wednesday, November 16, the Awards for Excellence Nominees will join the IFMA NYC Executive Board and the Awards Committee at Knoll for an evening celebrating their nominations for the Awards for Excellence. Save the dates for our Anual Holiday Party on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at HB Burger from 6:00PM-8:00PM and the Awards for Excellence Dinner at the Pierre Hotel on Thursday, January 26, 2017 from 6:00PM-10:00PM!
