LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT
I hope your 2016 is off to a great start. I would like to announce the upcoming IFMA NYC programming and special events calendar.
On Monday, December 7, 2015 we held the Holiday Party at Celsius in Bryant Park where guests celebrated the season, networked, participated in the raffle and donated to the Fraternite Notre Dame toy drive. On Thursday, December 17, 2015 we held a New Member Breakfast where our executive board and committee chairs welcomed our chapter’s new members. On Thursday, January 28, 2016 we held our Annual Awards for Excellence Dinner at the Pierre Hotel where guests celebrated IFMA NYC members and their companies for their outstanding accomplishments over the past year with the annual presentation of the Awards for Excellence. We have partnered with the FSDA for an FDNY Active Shooter Presentation on Tuesday, March 1, 2016. Please check our website and mobile app for a full event schedule. The CUNY School of Professional Studies is now offering a free Building Operating Certification Training for IFMA New York City Members. These 8-week courses are offered during the day once per week (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM) and also in the evening twice per week (6:00 PM – 9:00 PM). Since January 2014, IFMA Cares has raised approximately $60,011 for the following charitable organizations:
- American Foundation for Suicide Prevention: $7,011
- Dress for Success: Two clothing drives
- ASCNYC: One clothing drive
- IFMA Foundation: $37,000
- Fraternite Notre Dame Toy Drive: approximately 400 toys
- St. Jude Children's Research Hospital: $16,000
