LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT
You told us…we took action. We received feedback that our membership pricing for retirees should be reduced to student membership rates. I can confirm that this is now in effect and have noticed several of our retired members already take advantage of this change. We also have several complimentary (free) events this month as we strive to continue to add value to everyone’s membership. Please continue to send us your feedback as we are listening and more importantly, we are taking action.
We will continue to work with the mayor’s office (landlord/tenant sustainability challenge), schools (mentorships and educational awareness), and other chapters to produce educational programs, panel discussions and special events for our members. Considering these opportunities, please take time to check our website to find what things may interest you.
The ‘Engagement Injection: Sound Practical Advice on Healthy Collaboration’ was hosted by Humanscale on Wednesday, February 22 and included a workshop geared to help real estate professionals, business world, government officials and healthcare professionals with complex problem-solving through collaboration. The IFMA NYC Member Services Committee hosted a well-received private facility tour of Barclays Center on Monday, February 27 for new members of the chapter.
The IFMA NYC and FSDA's ’25 reasons Fire Alarm Inspections Fail’ presentation by Jim Mundy will be on Wednesday, March 8 at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York from 8:15 AM-10:15 AM. The March Members-Only Networking Breakfast will be at Avison Young on Thursday, March 9 from 8:15 AM - 9:45 AM. The ‘Tips to Get Notices in the Competitive Job Market’ event will be held at WB Wood on Thursday, March 16 and will feature Craig Robinson, Manager of FM and Property Management Recruitment at Hays, on recruitment trends within the FM industry and tips to help boost your chances on that next career move. On March 23, the ‘Facility Manager Toolbox – A How to on Thriving in Today’s Professional Environment’ event will be at FEDCAP from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM.

The CUNY School of Professional Studies is now offering a free Building Operating Certification Training for IFMA New York City Members. These 8-week courses are offered during the day once per week (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM) and also in the evening twice per week (6:00 PM – 9:00 PM).
