LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

 

Dear Members:

Summer is in full swing and there are some exciting changes within the Chapter. I am honored to be your new President and I look forward to working with all of you to continue Gary Anzalone’s legacy of positioning our organization at the forefront of the industry through innovative programming and dedication to growing the Facility Management profession. Over the past year, we have greatly enhanced many aspects of the organization with recent upgrades to our website and mobile app, the addition of many new networking, educational, social and fundraiser events, the launch of our mentorship program and much more. I hope to continue the great momentum we have picked up as a Chapter and to enhance the many resources available to our members.

The 2015-2016 Executive Board has been selected and is listed below. Please welcome me in congratulating our new members along with our returning officers. In addition, the Chapter is currently accepting nominations for the 2016 Awards dinner next January. Please click here to make your nominations. On Tuesday, July 22 we are holding an Environmental, Health and Safety Toolbox Luncheon, featuring an expert panel moderated by Amelia Janisz, CEO & President of EZBuildingEHS. Thursday, August 13 is the 2015 IFMA Foundation Fundraiser and Wine Tasting Social and don't forget to save the date for our 2015 Annual Golf Outing at Knollwood Country Club on Monday, September 28. Mentorship Program:

IFMA New York City is seeking mentors to work with Facility Management students! For more information and to sign up visit our website.

Communications Committee:

Coming soon – Stuart’s Corner! This will be our monthly column with Stuart Goldberg of SiriusXM answering all your pressing facilities management questions!

Sustainability Committee:

The CUNY School of Professional Studies is now offering a free Building Operating Certification Training for IFMA New York City Members. These 8-week courses are offered during the day once per week (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM) and also in the evening twice per week (6:00 PM – 9:00 PM). IFMA Cares Committee:

IFMA Cares Committee: Since January 2014, IFMA Cares has raised approximately $37,500 for the following charitable organizations:

  • American Foundation for Suicide Prevention: $1,500
  • Dress for Success: Two clothing drives
  • IFMA Foundation: $20,000
  • Fraternite Notre Dame Toy Drive: approximately 250 toys
  • St. Jude Children's Research Hospital: $16,000
