As part of that work, with the help of our Communications Committee, we've recently changed the Chapter name from the Canadian Chapter of ACHE to ACHE Canada:

Do you sometimes find it hard to find the time read each journal cover to cover?
Why not join ACHE Canada members to look at these together? We meet several times a year to discuss the articles, concepts and examples that were most impactful. Hearing from other Canadian healthcare leaders about how they are applying learnings to their healthcare systems is both valuable and enjoyable.

Our next journal review sessions are on February 15, March 15 and April 12.

Email our membership committee chairperson Dr. Tim Foggin ( for details.

Congratulations to David W. Matear, FACHE, this year's recipient of the 2023 Regent Award.

David is the embodiment of leadership and service, having held numerous senior leadership roles, including critical positions during the COVID-19 pandemic. He was seconded from his role as Chief Executive Officer, Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority to the role of Provincial Incident Commander, COVID-19 Response, Government of Manitoba. As that secondment was coming to an end, he was tapped again to serve his province as Provincial Executive Director, Diagnostic and Surgical Recovery Task Force, where he led with complete dedication and continues to address not only the backlog of surgical and diagnostic cases created through the course of the pandemic, but to implement system capacity initiatives to avoid future backlogs.

Please join the entire ACHE community in congratulating David on this well-deserved award.
You can hear David W. Matear, FACHE, speak on April 24, 2023, at our first in-person education event for the chapter since the pandemic began.
