10th Anniversary Celebrations

You are invited to join us at Brentwood Brewery on Saturday 18th June for our 10th anniversary celebrations - The Flashback Beer Festival.

We'll have at least ten Brentwood Beers for you to try including some of your favourite Brentwood originals, like Volcano 4.6% ABV and Big Brown Bear 4.8% ABV.

Pints will revert to 2006 prices for the day, at £2 per pint, with a donation also going to Brentwood-based charity Special Needs and Parents (SNAP).

Hope you can celebrate with us.  Please save the date in your diary.  The fun starts at 10.30am.
Best is Perfect With Pickled Eggs

Britain's Beer Alliance beer and food match campaign, There's A Beer For That, has recently announced its recommendation of our Brentwood Best 4.2% ABV as the perfect partner to the king of traditional bar snacks, the pickled egg.

In case you were wondering where you might find this heavenly beer and food match combo, look no further than Old Brentwoods Club, Ashwells Road, Brentwood.
Brentwood Festival 2016

We're busy creating a special brew especially for the Brentwood Festival.  It's very much in the planning stages but we'll keep you posted on progress and let you know what the beer is like, issuing tasting notes in good time, ahead of the festival.

Twenty more bands have just been confirmed for this year's Brentwood Festival (15th - 17th July).

Congratulations to Andrew Jennison from Brentwood, who is the lucky winner of our Beery News & Brentwood Festival prize draw package:  a Brewery Tour for four people followed by a meal at our Brewery Tap, The White Horse.

Pub of the Month
The Rising Sun,
Ongar Road, Brentwood

It really is all about the beer at The Rising Sun in Brentwood. Landlord Martin White prides himself on taking great care of his cellar and his customers.

“I’m so proud that The Rising Sun is the only Brentwood pub to feature in CAMRA’s latest Good Beer Guide.

“Keeping a good cellar of beers in the best possible condition is a key priority. We also believe the pub’s friendly atmosphere is another reason customers keep coming back,” said Martin.

Part of the Admiral Taverns Group, the pub is Cask Marque accredited and when it comes to reputation, Martin believes in letting the quality of the beer do the talking.

Of the five draught real ales on the bar, one is always from Brentwood Brewery and one is a guest ale.

“We are one of the few remaining traditional pubs. Whilst we’ve made improvements we also remember our roots. We feel we’re custodians protecting our industry’s heritage,” added Martin.

Beer & Bar Snack Match Suggestion:  A pint of Brentwood Best 4.2% ABV and one of The Rising Sun’s highly nutritious, traditional, sumptuous, vinegary, ever-popular, pickled eggs.

If you’re not brave enough to take on a pickled egg, (they do tend to divide opinion) there is an impressive array of traditional bar snacks to choose from - roasted nuts, crisps, and savoury biscuits as well as traditional pork scratchings or continental pretzels, all of which will partner an award-winning pint of Brentwood Beer perfectly. For the best of the best bar snacks though, a well-timed visit to the pub on a Sunday lunchtime is required. It’s when the much-lauded home-made bread pudding is likely to appear on the bar, courtesy of Martin’s Mum, Barbara.

Opening Times

Monday to Thursday 3 - 10.30pm, Friday 3pm - midnight, Saturday noon - midnight, Sunday noon - 10.30pm. Bank Holidays noon.

 April Beers of the Month

George and the Dragon
3.8%  ABV

Tasting Notes:
Courageous, brown, traditional bitter, great for slaying dragons.
Hope and Glory 4.5% ABV

Tasting Notes:
Full-bodied, red, premium bitter.  Well-balanced with full malt flavours and a lightness of the hops coming through, leaving a pleasing end note and lingering bitterness
