BEERY NEWS

Best Wins Gold
We have some exciting news:  Brentwood Best 4.2% ABV is officially East Anglia's top Best Bitter.  The announcement was made at the recent Colchester Winter Beer Festival where CAMRA volunteers completed regional judging in the Champion Beer of Britain competition, awarding Brentwood Best the Gold Award in the Best Bitter category.
It means Brentwood Best will automatically go through to one of the World's most prestigious beer competitions, CAMRA's Champion Beer of Britain. The national final will be judged and announced at the Great British Beer Festival at Olympia in August.  Wish us luck.
St George's Beer Festival Announced

Brentwood Brewing Company is pleased to announce that its first Beer Festival of 2017 will be held at Brentwood Brewery on Saturday 22nd April 10.30am - 5pm.   A good range of Brentwood and Elephant School beers will be available including George and the Dragon 3.8% ABV, brewed to celebrate St George's Day.  It's a courageous, brown, traditional bitter – the beer of choice for  dragon slayers everywhere.
All beer £2 per pint.  Hurrah for St George!

20% Discount Offer

Our free points giveaway this month means members of the brewery’s loyalty reward scheme will receive enough points to enjoy a 20% discount off their beer shopping from the Brewery Shop or online, for one transaction during February.  That works out at one in five beers for free.

This February, sign-up to our loyalty reward scheme, operated by us in conjunction with DrinkedIn, supply your name, email address and mobile phone number then load your Brentwood Brewing Company loyalty pass onto your phone and we’ll give you 75 free points.

All you need to do is put this address:  bit.ly/brentwood-brewery into your internet browser then put the information in.  It’s that easy.

Next add the Loyalty pass when prompted and it will appear in your iPhone Wallet or Android WalletPasses.  If you haven’t got WalletPasses it can be downloaded from Google Play.

We’ll give you points every time you shop with us online or in the Brewery shop.  You choose how to use your points.

Your loyalty pass is stored in your smart phone's wallet.  If you’d rather save up for other offers, you can.  For instance, for a thousand points can be exchanged for an Ultimate Brewing Experience Voucher for 2018 worth at least £99.

Already a member of our loyalty scheme?  We couldn’t leave you out.  Of course we’re giving you 75 free points too, which means anyone in our loyalty scheme can enjoy a one-off 20% discount at Brentwood Brewery this February.

 Pub of the Month
Ye Olde Smack, Leigh on Sea

In its distant past Ye Olde Smack in Leigh on Sea was a hive of smuggling activity.  Reputedly, tunnels running underneath the pub aided smugglers by concealing movement of contraband, arriving in secrecy via the estuary.  Today this historic, traditional Great British pub remains a sociable, community hub and provides a year-round, warm welcome to everyone - families, fishermen, day trippers and locals.

“This pub is the beating heart of Old Leigh.  It’s always at the centre of whatever’s going on.

“Old Leigh is a great place for a day out.  The pub is less than ten minutes’ walk from the train station.  There’s lots of history.  The cockle sheds, our heritage centre and the seafront, along which you can walk all the way into Southend,” said Manager Maz Handy.

The house beer, Ye Olde Smack Ale 3.7% ABV, is brewed to the pub’s specifications at Brentwood Brewery.  A Greene King pub, Ye Olde Smack offers beer drinkers plenty of choice.  There are up to eight traditional, real ales on tap.

Situated on Old Leigh’s cobbled High Street, directly on the waterfront, the pub boasts beautiful, ever-changing views of the estuary which can be enjoyed from the pub’s rear terrace or on cold, inclement days, from behind glass and the comfort of indoors.
