Flashback Beer Festival
Tie a knot in your hanky, pencil us in on your calendar or add us as a diary event on your smart phone - Saturday 18th June and our Flashback Beer Fest is almost here.  We're celebrating a decade of brewing good, honest beer for local people and hope you will join us between 10.30am and 5.30pm at Brentwood Brewery to raise a glass with us.
At least ten different Brentwood Beers will be available and best of all, pints will each cost £2 to reflect 2006 prices.  In addition a donation will be made to SNAP charity.
Some of your old Brentwood Beer favourites will be there like Big Brown Bear, Volcano and Roy Rogers.  Plus some new beers like Legacy 4% ABV, created to celebrate this milestone in our brewing history.
The first beer from a new Elephant School Brewing range, made with ingredients thought to be rather good for you, will also be on draught.  Sombrero 4.5% ABV is a chia and passionfruit Saison and has been making quite a noise on social media recently among the beer aficionados of Essex, who absolutely love it.
Food will be available from the brewery's Beer Grylls snack van.
From noon onwards a free shuttle service from the brewery to the High Street and rail station is being offered by Stephen Wells of Ashford Executive Cars (
Retro Brentwood Beers (new ones too), retro prices and retro jokes (by Roland) - The Flashback Beer Festival at Brentwood Brewery, Saturday 18th June.  See you there.

Legacy is 10th Anniversary Beer
Local craftsman Andy Webb, a commercial woodcarver, is more used to taking on projects for high profile clients including royal palaces and castles but a recent commission  from us means his latest work will end up a stone's throw from his Pilgrims Hatch workshop.
The new beer created to celebrate the brewery's 10th anniversary, Legacy 4% ABV will have its own, bespoke, woodcarved pump clip at Brentwood Brewery in time for celebrations at The Flashback Beer Festival on June 18th.
This celebratory beer is an easy-drinking, golden, sweet yet dry ale with citrus undertones.  It's also one of our Beers of the Month for June.
Brentwood Pubs in Bloom 2016
About 20 pubs in and around the Brentwood area are taking part in this year's Brentwood Pubs in Bloom competition, sponsored by the brewery.  Judging takes place later this month.  The pub with the best blooms will be announced at a special awards ceremony early next month.
From 15th June for every pint or bottle of Brentwood Beer sold in Havering in the next two years, the brewery will be making a donation to Hornchurch based charity First Step.

BFG for Brentwood Festival

Head Brewer, Ethan Kannor, has been working on ideas and recipes to create a special festival beer for this year’s Brentwood Festival. It’s called BFG or Brentwood Festival Gold 4.2% ABV.

He did have a little help from Brentwood Festival Co-ordinator, Laurie Edmonds and brewery MD, Roland Kannor who helped to pick out the malt and hop flavours to make BFG the ideal, easy-drinking, summer festival ale.

BFG 4.2% ABV is a big, flavoursome, golden beer – the perfect refreshment for thirsty Brentwood Festival-goers. It will be available throughout The Brentwood Festival (15th – 17th July)

Brentwood Brewery sends congratulations to Bennetts Funerals & Undertakers as the family firm marks 125 years in business in Brentwood this month.  We are delighted to donate some special beer for the occasion, Bennetts Best.

10th Anniversary Reflections

Although the brewery team isn’t known for being overly sentimental, this special 10th anniversary provides an appropriate, if fleeting, moment to coax forth some reminiscences in a spot of collective navel gazing.

Hal Kannor said: “My earliest memories of the brewery are Ethan and Ralph being put in the mash tun when they were much younger, to clear out the malt. They were only ones who could fit inside.

“Also going out delivering in Dad’s car before we had a van and having to carry all the barrels as Dad always had a 'bad back’”.

Head brewer Ethan Kannor said: “My fondest memories are of ‘jousting’ with Hal and Saint George’s Day pub tours, playing random games.

“Also, making ice sculptures underneath the fermenters with former head brewer Sophie De Ronde.”

MD Roland Kannor said: “Moving into the new brewery, almost 3 years ago now, brought it home to me how far we’ve come in 10 years.

“Visitors and customers taking brewery tours can now come to a nice bar and visitor centre rather than a shed.”
