On Your Marks, Get Set for July Beer Festivals

With both Chelmsford Summer Beer and Cider Festival (5 - 9th, Admirals Park, Chelmsford) and The Brentwood Festival (15 - 17th)  this July looks like a busy month for festival-goers and the brewery team.

Please do come and say 'hi' to the team at the Brentwood Brewing Company bar at Chelmsford Summer Beer and Cider Festival.  You cannot miss them as they'll be wearing some most unusual headgear.  After a few beverages, it may all become apparent as to why the furry hats are being adorned.  Possibly not.  Either way it's probably not because they're taking the saying 'if you want to get ahead, get a hat' seriously.

Chockwork Orange fans may also be interested in taking part in a competition that the brewery is running throughout Chelmsford Beer Festival -  The Chockwork Walk.  It's long been noted by the brewery team that Chockwork fans adopt a bold, determined walk, often with some urgency, fixing their eyes on one particular cask and homing in on it without deviation or hesitation, even from a considerable distance.  That cask and their subsequent order when they get to the bar is of course our Chockwork.

To enter the competition for a chance to win a Brentwood Brewery Tour for two, Tweet us a video (@BrentwoodBrewCo) of you or your friends doing The Chockwork Walk at Chelmsford Beer Festival.  The best video, judged by the brewery team, wins the tour prize.

The Brentwood Beer list for Chelmsford Summer Beer and Cider Festival has been confirmed:
Summer Virgin, Marvellous Maple Mild, Heavenly Body, Chockwork Orange and BBC2.

Also, Elephant School Brewing beers:  Aussie Blonde, Mahout, Black & Weiss and Porter in a Storm.

At The Brentwood Festival we cannot promise not to wear bizarre hats, it's always a possibility, but we can guarantee that among the huge selection of real ales there'll be at least 10 Brentwood Beers and four Elephant School beers to chose from.
They are:  BBC2, Brentwood IPA, Marvellous Maple Mild, Brentwood Blonde, BFG or Brentwood Festival Gold, Summer Virgin, Hope and Glory, Lumberjack and of course, Chockwork Orange.  The Elephant School Brewing beers include:  Porter in a Storm, Black & Weiss, Mahout and Aussie Blonde.

If you hurry and get your entry in asap today, you could win backstage passes to meet celebrity bands Level 42, Soul II Soul and The Dualers, in a Brentwood Festival competition.  The  winners will be chosen at random after 5pm today (1st July).  Visit for full details.

Good luck with the competitions and hope to see you at the festivals.

Blessed Be The Brentwood Beer

It’s not every day that beer you’ve brewed gets blessed by the church, so the brewery was particularly excited when Father Colin Hewitt of St Thomas’ church blessed some Brentwood Beer at the churches’ first beer festival.

“You cannot beat a bit of blessed beer,” said brewery MD Roland Kannor.

Held recently as a fund raiser for the church centre, all the racking and kegs were supplied by Brentwood Brewing Company.   Each keg was sponsored and named by local businesses except for one.  The remaining cask, named Seen The Light Ale by the winning entry in a competition open to the congregation, was blessed by Father Hewitt as the St Thomas’ house beer.

“The main aim was to bring the whole community together including people that don't attend the church.

“There was live music by various local bands, a BBQ and children's area. It was a great success and we’re planing on making it an annual event,” said Sarah Howard from the church.

We say ‘cheers’ to that.  Along with Love Beer, Love Brentwood.

Brentwood Pubs in Bloom 2016
Judging has finished and winners of this year's Brentwood in Bloom Pubs competition will be announced at a special awards ceremony at the brewery next week.  Well done and good luck to all the pubs who took part in the competition to brighten up the the local area for everyone to enjoy.  The brewery is delighted to again be sponsoring the pubs category of this community-spirited competition.
Stop Press:  Following the success of Flashback Fest, the brewery has decided to host another beer festival. The Elephant Invasion Beer Festival will take place on Saturday 24th September 10.30am - 5.30pm and will feature a considerable range of Elephant School Brewing beers.

Love Beer, Love Brentwood

Fun Times at Flashback Fest

The atmosphere at Brentwood Brewing Company’s 10th anniversary celebrations, The Flashback Beer Festival, was relaxed and jovial with about two hundred beer fans visiting the brewery throughout Saturday to enjoy the event.

VIP guests, The Mayor of Brentwood, Cllr Noelle Hones and the Mayor’s Consort, Cllr Jon Cloke, were welcomed to the Brewery by MD Roland Kannor, his wife Debbie, sons Hal and Ethan and the team.

Among the brewery’s loyal fans was a contingent from Old Brentwoods Rugby Club who came to show their appreciation and to enjoy some of the dozen or so real ales on offer.

Brentwood Brewing Company MD Roland Kannor said: “Lots of lovely people came along to celebrate with us, some new faces, some old faces, all Brentwood beer fans. It’s gone so well we’re thinking of planning regular beer festivals in the future, maybe even quarterly.”

Brentwood Brewing Company would like to thank The Mayor of Brentwood and The Mayor’s Consort, everyone who volunteered, worked, performed or visited The Flashback Beer Festival and the wider local community, which continues to support the brewery. Also thanks go to everyone who donated to SNAP charity.  Just over £50 was collected for the charity on the day and the brewery is pleased to pledge a further £100 donation to SNAP.  We will be making a formal presentation to the charity very soon.
