All this talk of budgets, austerity and the ever-increasing age of retirement is not funny.
But it is depressing.
And so, it’s probably just about the time to inject a little shot of grandiose-living into our grey-of-late lives.
Like say, by a visit to the grander-than-grand Victorian Bath House.
Housed in a 200-year-old, Grade II listed building beneath Bishopsgate, this subterranean outpost has been recently renovated to a level of age-old decadence, featuring sleek seated areas, lavish interiors and extravagant touches aplenty (we're looking at you, bath-filled-with-prosecco-magnums). Predominantly operating as an opulent private hire space, they are now opening up their cocktail bar to the public, on Thursdays to Saturdays, and ‘By Appointment Only’.
Serving a range of Victorian-inspired cocktails and delectable sharing plates from the kitchen, when they say ‘by appointment only’, they really mean it. The Victorian Bath House operates a bookings-only policy, meaning guests are required to make a reservation in advance if they want to secure a spot.
And that’s where we come in.
To celebrate their opening, we’re offering one free cocktail per guest, plus 10% off your bill for all bookings via DesignMyNight, for March and April.
See you in the bath.
The Victorian Bath House is located at Bishopsgate Churchyard, London, EC2M 3TJ.
