La Posta Pizzella Vineyard Malbec 2018
93pts James Suckling
91pts Robert Parker, Jr.'s Wine Advocate
James Suckling:  "Nice bitter-chocolate and smoky notes, as well as lots of forest berries, make this generous and well structured Malbec a rather complex wine. But the supple tannins are already so well integrated that you can enjoy it right away. Drink or hold."  Mar 2019

Robert Parker, Jr's Wine Advocate:  "My favorite of the Malbecs in 2018 is the 2018 Pizzella Malbec, which is aromatic, floral, varietal and harmonious. It's clean and juicy, with almost unnoticeable tannins and a velvety texture. Drink date: 2019-2022."  Oct 2019

St Suprey 2018 Rose
If wine were a candy, it would be this wine. Think fruit sweet, NOT Sugar sweet! It's amazing.
This is a bright and refreshing Rosé, with aromas of raspberry and strawberry that are complemented by hibiscus and rose petal. Raspberry and strawberry flavors continue on the palate and are framed by nuances of pomegranate and watermelon. This is a balanced wine with a vibrant finish and good mouthfeel. It's tasting beautifully.

Blend: 71% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 10% Malbec, 5% Petit Verdot, 3% Cabernet Franc

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 90 points
The medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Merlot (a barrel sample) has a nose of plums, flowers and herbs with earthy undertones. The full-bodied palate has good concentration and is very firm and chewy, showing oak nuances and finishing long and savory.

Pamplemousse Rosé
Pamplemousse Rosé has a slightly sweet, easygoing grapefruit taste that is more approachable for entry level wine drinkers and sunny weather. It has a lower alcohol content (usually 8-10% ABV), it's the quintessential couch wine. It's also highly versatile. You can serve it chilled, over ice with soda, or as a welcome addition to cocktails.
Here's some recipes!
Based on the national drink of Mexico, this rosé variation is refreshing with a light punch.
Pamplemousse Paloma
  • 5 ounces blanco tequila
  • .75 ounce fresh grapefruit juice
  • .5 ounce Pamplemousse Rosé
  • .25 ounce agave syrup (optional)
  • grapefruit for garnish
Combine the liquid ingredients over ice in a cocktail shaker shake until your vessel is frosted. Strain into a Collins glass and top off with two ounces of grapefruit soda. Garnish with grapefruit wedges.

This next recipe will brighten any brunch and bridal party.
  • 1 ounce Pamplemousse Rosé
  • French champagne or Prosecco
  • 1 fresh grapefruit
In a champagne flute, combine the Pamplemousse Rosé and 4-5 ounces of the sparkling wine. Garnish with a long strip of grapefruit peel.

2 years ago, the Diora Pinot Noir was our biggest selling wine in December. I decided to give their 2019 Rose a try. I was NOT disappointed. Holy Cow!

Very light, nearly crystalline and gem-like in color, this bottling starts with delicate aromas of strawberry, cotton candy and an underlying citrus tone. There is compelling grip to the sip, where a chalky texture carries flavors of lime zest and watermelon. It's $17.59
The Bodegas Hercal Bocca Roble Tempranillo is $16.59
The Saraceno Negroamaro Rosato is $11.59
