What We're Watching/Reading/Listening to in W*SS

By: Gabby Wahla, Assistant Director

Welcome back from break and a long weekend celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Spartans! We in W*SS hope you were able to find some time for yourself over break and have been able to attend some of the fabulous MLK Commemorative Celebration events on campus this week. As classes and other commitments begin to pick up this semester, we want to remind you to take some time for yourself and seek out ways to de-stress. The winter months can feel isolating with the cold combined with stress, so take some time for you, Spartans.

WOMAN LIFE FREEDOM

January 20th, 2023, 5:30-6:30pm. MSU Broad Art Museum

Throughout the current uprising turned revolution in Iran, we've seen various forms of protest and solidarity in the diaspora — from sharing stories and footage to storming the streets in rallies and marches. This will be an evening where we resist through art and celebrate the unparalleled warmth and beauty of Iran's culture as we work to reaffirm, in the words of Edward Said, "the power of culture over the culture of power.”

Visit the MSU Broad Art Museum for a night of music and performance in solidarity with the people of Iran.
