A word from the Heart
“And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” (2 Corinthians 12:7-9)

God has the right to say, "No."
I recently preached a Sunday evening message titled, "When God says No." The main purpose for the message was to Scripturally show what the believer's response should be and ought to be when God's answer to their prayer is "No." The secondary lesson of the message and just as important to understand is, God has the right to say, "No."
The child of God has been granted the incredible privilege of prayer. Through Jesus Christ, we have access to the Father and we are able to petition the throne of grace that we may obtain the Father's mercy and help. There is no greater comfort than for the believer to know that God the Father hears their prayers and cares about them and their needs.
“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16)
However, access to the Father's throne is not a guarantee that the answer will always be yes! Just as a parent has the right to say, "no" to their child's request, God has the right to say, "no" to His children's request.
There has been a lot of bad teaching and preaching on how to get God to say, "yes" to ALL your prayers. The misinformed child then approaches the throne of grace with a "name it claim it", "blab it grab it" attitude. Hearing "NO" is a great shock to their system and they either demonstrate their disapproval by exhibiting a rejected depression or a badly thrown temper tantrum. In their self pity they learn another valuable lesson, God rejects the proud and gives grace to the humble.
It would be good for us all to remember that God is not our butler or a magic genie eager to grant us our three greatest wishes. God has the right to say, "No" and for whatever reason He says, "No" it is always for His glory and for our good! Now, I know that explanation sounds a little cliche and like some cute little response to conceal shallow theology or the fact that we don't always know why God says, "yes" and why God says, "no". Time and space prevent me from further explanation. If you are interested in a more thorough explanation listen to the message on Youtube.
Here is the thought I want to impress upon you from Paul's experience when God said "No" to his importunate prayer. God always provides sufficient grace to go with the disappointment. One's first reaction might be, "I would rather have my request, than grace." May I remind you that all answer to prayer IS GRACE!
Grace is not just some theological word haphazardly scattered throughout the Bible. The Grace of God is the POWER of God! It is the LOVE of God! It is the COMPASSION of God! It is the hand of God working in our life and in our burdens, problems and cares. The grace of God is sufficient to sustain us in our adversities, strengthen us in our weakness, equip us to continue, elevate us to victory, and bless us to thanksgiving and gladness. The grace of God is sufficient enough to produce the same results in us whether God says, "Yes" or whether God says, "No".
“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
(2 Corinthians 12:9)

The Bible Way to Heaven

Dear Friend you are about to be asked the most important question of your life. Your abounding joy or great misery for all eternity depends upon your honest answer. The question is: Are you saved? It is not a question of how good you have been or if you are a good church member, but are you saved? Are you 100% for sure if you died today that you would go to Heaven?
God says for you to go to Heaven, you must be born again. John 3:7, Jesus said to Nicodemus, “Ye must be born again.”
The Bible gives God’s plan of how to be born again which means to be saved. God’s plan is simple and you can be saved, forgiven, and on your way to Heaven today.

You must realize you are a sinner.

“…There is none righteous, no not one.” Romans 3:10

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23

All people, everywhere, are born sinners. Regardless of name, position, wealth, or works, everyone is born a sinner with a sin nature.

Because you are a sinner…There is a Penalty.

Because you are a sinner you are condemned to death.

“For the wages of sin is death.” Romans 6:23

This includes eternal separation from God in Hell.

Jesus Christ died to pay for your sin.

God loved you so much that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to bear the penalty of your sin and to die in your place. (John 3:16)

“…He hath made Him (Jesus, Who knew no sin) to be sin for us…that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him” II Corinthians 5:21

Jesus Christ had to shed His blood and give His life on a cross that you might be saved.

“For the life of the flesh is in the blood” (Leviticus 17:11). “…without shedding of blood is no remission” (Hebrews 9:22).

“…God commendeth His love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

“…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23

Although it may be difficult to understand,God says my sins and your sins were laid upon Jesus Christ and He died in our place. He became our substitute.

Jesus Christ invites you to be saved today!

“God…commandeth all men everywhere to repent.” Acts 17:30

Repentance is a change of heart and mind about sin. Repenting is agreeing with God that you are a sinner, and you need to be saved. It also agrees with what Jesus Christ did for you on the Cross of Calvary. In Acts 16:30-31, the Philippians jailer asked Paul and Silas: “…’Sirs, what must I do to be saved?’ And they said, ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved….’”

Simply believe on Jesus Christ as the one who bore your sin, died in your place, was buried and whom God resurrected. His resurrection powerfully assures that the believer can claim everlasting life when Jesus is received as Saviour.

“But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.” John 1:12

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13

Believe on Jesus Christ and be saved today!

In Luke 18:13, the sinner prayed: “God be merciful to me a sinner.” Right now you can pray, Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I am genuinely sorry for my sin, and I need to be saved. I believe Jesus was my substitute when He died on the Cross. I believe His shed blood, death, burial, and resurrection were for me. I now receive Him as my Saviour. I thank You for the forgiveness of my sins, the gift of salvation and everlasting life, because of Your merciful grace. Amen.”
You can take God at His word and claim His salvation by faith. Believe, and you will be saved. No church, no lodge, no good works can save you. God does the saving.
God’s plan of salvation is: You are a sinner. Therefore, unless you believe on Jesus Who died in your place, you will spend eternity in Hell. If you believe on Him as your crucified, buried, and risen Saviour, you receive forgiveness for all of your sins and His gift of eternal salvation by faith. Salvation is really that simple. Believe on Jesus and receive Him as Saviour today.
After you are saved, there are three things to practice daily for spiritual growth: Pray, you talk to God; Read your Bible, God talks to you; Witness, you talk to God.
You should be baptized in obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ as a public testimony of your salvation, and then unite with a Bible-believing church without delay. “Be not there ashamed of the testimony of our Lord…” 2 Timothy 1:8
