Working with
Foley and Fitzgerald

We strive to provide our clients the best, most highly qualified candidates possible. This is the reason so many work with us to locate their next best Chef or Manager within our exclusive network. We are the "go to" company for many owners and operators in the bay area!
Candidates often wonder and ask if there is a fee to them in order to be a part of our network. There is not. What you need to bring however, is your "A game". Cindy meticulously reviews resumes, interviews candidates via phone, and also meets candidates in person to make sure Foley and Fitzgerald represents only the best.
Sometimes the only way to know this is by looking someone in the eye and shaking their hand. We feel this is what separates us from all the others.
So if you want to be represented by the best, please contact us at: info@foleyandfitzgerald.com

Interview with Danielle Lum

Danielle Lum is a Private Chef working for a Fabulous Bay Area Family. Hear how Foley and Fitzgerald had been an integral part of this union...

Why did you choose to enter the world of hospitality?
I started working in restaurants because it gave me the flexibility to work and study at the same time. I was always in the kitchen cooking for myself, family, and friends. While hosting a dinner party another friend who's father is a chef suggested I go to culinary school. I did some research and decided to go. Working in the world of hospitality allowed me to put all of my interests together. It's funny how full circle things can be in life because now as a Private Chef, I am back to hosting many dinner parties.

What made you decide to move from restaurants to Private Cheffing?
I had been working as a Sous Chef for many years and struggling with work life balance while working in restaurants and it was time to make a big step in my career.

How did F&F help with your transition into Private Cheffing?

Cindy was a great mentor into the world of Private Cheffing. I had no experience! Cindy was very honest about the competition and reality of landing a position without experience. She connected me with a few Private Chefs in the area to work with during large dinners. She also connected me with clients looking for chefs to cook dinner parties during the holidays. This gave me great experience and foundation to help me secure my current position.
How was your experience working with the F&F team in finding and finally landing your Private Chef position?
I really enjoyed my experience working with Cindy and F&F. I liked how direct Cindy is with her expectations of working together and the communication between us and the clients. We discussed in great length every detail related to going for an interview or cooking stage, resume improvements, dressing for an interview, menu planning, little details that would help set me apart from other tryouts. Cindy was essential in preparing me for the interview and finally the cooking stages at my current position. She is the liaison between you and your new employers. Working with Cindy who has been in both restaurants and the private chef world personally is a great asset.

What would you tell others about working with Foley and Fitzgerald?
I am constantly singing Cindy praises. I have referred a few people already. I tell people who are looking for different direction but don't have the connections to make their dreams come true to contact Foley and Fitzgerald!
