Deputy Director of the Natural Resources Institute

The Natural Resources Institute (NRI; www.nri.org) is a unique, multi-disciplinary centre of excellence with an established international reputation for delivering high-quality research, advice, teaching and training in support of global food security, sustainable development and poverty reduction. The Institute has gained a reputation not only for the quality of its research, but also for translating research outputs into impact. This is built on the strong partnerships that it has with a wide range of organisations around the world. The NRI has formed part of the University of Greenwich since 1996 and is based at its Medway Campus in Kent, South East England.

The University of Greenwich is one of London’s largest universities with almost 24,000 students across three campuses in London and Kent. The University is consistently ranked in the top five of London universities for student satisfaction. The University has an expanding portfolio of world-leading research to which the NRI makes an important contribution.

As the Institute’s activities and impact continue to grow, the NRI now seeks to appoint a Deputy Director to work closely with the current Director in the continued development of the Institute. The appointee will likely take on a Research and Enterprise portfolio and will have responsibility for leading and facilitating the growth and sustenance of the strongest possible suite of research and enterprise programmes. The appointee will have a notable research profile, be able to demonstrate prior experience of leadership, management and the development of large projects for funding agencies and will be marked by a deep commitment to the mission of the Natural Resources Institute. The appointment will be made at Professorial level and will be based at the University’s Medway Campus.

In line with University of Greenwich guidelines, applicants are asked to complete an EOM form and provide copies of documents that verify the applicant’s qualifications.
