Hello everyone!

Welcome to the April edition of CSC's electronic newsletter. As much as we are all ready for spring, the thought of spring cleaning can be overwhelming for some. CSC can help by matching you or a loved one with a brokered worker to assist with household chores. To learn more about this service, please call 519-772-8787.

In this edition, we want to thank our local mayors and elected officials who came out to deliver meals making 'Mayors for Meals' a success! And to add to the excitement of the event, CSC kicked-off a $600,000 capital campaign to build our very own Meals on Wheels kitchen!

This month is very special at CSC as we celebrate our volunteers during National Volunteer Appreciation Week from April 6th to 12th. Click to find out how CSC will be thanking our volunteers for all they do.

After much anticipation, the 2015 Leejay Levene Art Calendar is now available for purchase with all proceeds going towards the purchase of new kitchen equipment. Consider this an opportunity to get a head start on your holiday gift list!

If the idea of holiday shopping isn't your cup of tea, then what about hitting your first golf ball of the season? Join us Tuesday May 13th, 2014 for the 10th Annual Drive to Deliver Golf Tournament.

We hope you take the time to catch up with all things happening at CSC in this April edition. If you would like to be taken off our email list you can unsubscribe at the bottom or just hit reply and let me know. We will miss you!

Sincerely,

Matthew Trushinski

Mayors for Meals A Success

On March 19th, our local mayors and elected officials came out to demonstrate their support by delivering Meals on Wheels alongside our dedicated volunteers. At the event, CSC kicked off a $600,000 capital campaign to build a new Meals on Wheels kitchen.

We want to thank Waterloo Mayor Brenda Halloran (pictured above, left, with Karl Kaufman, President of the CSC Foundation), Kitchener Mayor Carl Zehr, Cambridge Mayor Doug Craig, MP Peter Braid, Regional Chair Ken Seiling, MP Stephen Woodworth, MP Harold Albrecht, and Kitchener Councillor Berry Vrbanovic, for showing your support and delivering meals to our clients!

Over the course of March we had many other local officials come out to deliver Meals on Wheels. Check out our Facebook page to see pictures of everyone who joined us!

Thank You!

CSC simply could not exist without the acts of kindness from our incredible volunteers. We want to say "thank you" to each and every one of you. Thank you for your time, your patience, your generosity, and your willingness to keep on giving!

As a small token of our appreciation, we will be raffling off prizes throughout the week. We will call you if your name is selected. The prizes were generously donated to us by Tim Horton's on Fischer Hallman & Ottawa and Shopper's Drug Mart in Highland Park. Thank you!

Don't forget to visit Volunteer Canada for all the details on National Volunteer Appreciation Week and ways you can get involved.

Drive to Deliver Golf Tournament Celebrates 10th Anniversary

On May 13th, 2014 join us for the 10th Annual Drive to Deliver Golf Tournament! Last year, you helped us raise $33,000, enough to subsidize over 8,000 meals for low income seniors and adults with disabilities in our community.

The tournament will be happening at Rebel Creek Golf Club located in Petersburg, just outside Kitchener-Waterloo. The price includes 18 holes of golf, cart, lunch, and dinner, as well as access to amazing auction items and golfer gifts.

Thank you to all of our generous supporters so far this year! There are still many sponsorship opportunities available. If you would like to golf in the tournament, register a foursome, or become a sponsor, check out our Drive to Deliver blog or contact Karla at 519-772-8787 x218 or karlal@communitysupportconnections.org.
