100 Women Who Care Cheque Presentation

The numbers are in! We were thrilled to accept a $24,800 donation from 100 Women Who Care Waterloo Region on July 18th! This generous contribution will allow CSC to increase fresh, local content in our meals, reaching one of our key strategic priorities. Now that we have our living herb wall installed providing fresh ingredients for our clients year round, we are excited to start building our very own kitchen garden where we can welcome volunteers and keep food costs down. A special thank you to Shirley Levene for nominating CSC, and for the entire group's contribution which is already making a huge impact in our client's lives.

Feature Volunteer Opportunities

Did you know we can accommodate your schedule to make your volunteer experience the best it can be? Many of our clients are unable to get to their medical appointments, the grocery store, or to community dining sites to spend time with friends, because they are no longer able to drive. We can call you to find out your availability for the week and schedule rides around those times!

Grocery store rides are also flexible as you and the client can set up a time that works for both of your schedules. Friendly visitors are matched with a client and decide on a time to meet that works for your both.

Marie Retires After 20 Years with CSC

Marie took on a short term contract position as a Meal Assembly Assistant in 1998 and never looked back. 20 years later, we are proud but sad to be celebrating her retirement at Community Support Connections – Meals on Wheels and More.

Marie took on many different roles during her time at CSC with her most recent position as Scheduler with CSC’s Transportation Team. She reported to work every day with a smile, ready to take on new challenges and explore unknown territory whenever the need should arise.

Marie’s commitment to the agency has been steadfast. Her “can do” attitude and willingness to roll up her sleeves to get the work done has always been appreciated and admired. She was friendly and empathetic with everyone and her telephone presence is second to none. Marie is a rare gem.

Her enthusiasm and “joie De vivre” are her trademark. All of CSC’s clients, volunteers, client’s family and caregivers, staff and community partners were touched by their many interactions with Marie. Everyone loved her playful spirit and her willingness to find humour in every situation.

While Marie will be taking on many new adventures, she won't be going far as she plans to be a Community Dining volunteer. Marie, you will be greatly missed by everyone at CSC and we wish you the very best!
