Every holiday season we reach out to our community to help fulfill our mission of enabling local seniors and adults with disabilities to live at home with independence and dignity. Click here to read about Mildred, whose story could represent the lives of more than 6,494 clients of CSC, and how our programs and services are having a positive impact on people's day to day lives. Please join us in reaching some of our most vulnerable neighbours to ensure they have the supports they need to live at home. If you haven't received an appeal letter, or would prefer to donate electronically, please click here.On behalf of the clients, volunteers, staff and board of CSC, we thank you for your support.
MTE Consultants Inc. is one of CSC's biggest allies. MTE's Kitchener office has been delivering Meals on Wheels as part of the Adopt-A-Route program for the last four years. To celebrate their four year anniversary, they added two new members to their Adopt-A-Route team. Not only do they deliver Meals on Wheels, but MTE is a regular supporter of CSC’s fundraising events as well. They have stepped up as Presenting Sponsor of Tacofest for three years in a row (some of the team pictured above at Tacofest 2014) and have sponsored both the Drive to Deliver Golf Tournament and the Mayor's Souper Sampler for Meals on Wheels. It's thanks to partnerships like these that we are able to provide the best possible service to our clients.
Laurie Vandenhoff, a member of MTE's Adopt-A-Route team, shares her personal thoughts on volunteering: "I can’t believe it’s been four years since starting the Adopt-A-Route program. I think that’s because we have had so much fun meeting new people and delivering meals together in the community. I think what surprises newcomers to our team the most is not only how much fun it is, but how easy it is to make a difference in other people’s lives. We always come back to the office smiling!"
MTE is focused on being a leader in the communities they work and live in. One way they do this is by being an active participant through involvement with local groups. "We feel that working with local organizations helps to improve our knowledge of a community as well as foster relationships with their co-workers and other community-focused people. It also gives our staff a sense of accomplishment in knowing that in ways both big and small, they have improved the world around them."
Thank you to MTE and to all of our corporate partners who support our mission of enabling seniors and adults with disabilities to live at home with independence and dignity! If you are interested in learning more about the many corporate volunteer opportunities available, please call 519-772-8787 and ask for Yesenia at ext. 214 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Just as Black Friday kicks off the holiday shopping season, GivingTuesday marks the start of the giving season. Last year, Vancouver, Regina, Guelph, Ottawa, and Halifax launched their charitable campaigns. Now the GivingTuesday movement has come to Waterloo Region.
CSC is pleased to join 66 (and growing!) other local charities and non-profits across the region as partners of GivingTuesday Waterloo Region! On December 1st, we encourage everyone to rally for their favourite cause and share meaningful experiences. Whether it’s making a donation, volunteering time, helping a neighbour or spreading the word, GivingTuesday is a movement for everyone.
Along with our community partners, CSC will have a booth at Conestoga Mall in Waterloo on December 1st. We hope to see you there.
RBC Royal Bank® is now a partner of ChangeIt®, meaning that now you can support your favourite charity by enrolling your RBC® or BMO® credit cards.
What is ChangeIt®? ChangeIt® lets you automatically round up your debit, credit, or mobile wallet purchases and donate the difference to causes you care about. Watch a short video clip on how easy it works, here. You can also visit their website, here.
CSC is a proud partner with ChangeIt®, so your donations can be made to support local seniors and adults with disabilities!
All volunteers are invited to attend our next agency wide training session that will focus on mental health and fire safety. Snacks and light refreshments will be provided. Please feel free to bring a friend!
