4theVolunteers

Want to help us give back to our awesome volunteers and receive some sweet perks in return? Here's your chance. We are asking the Waterloo Region community to help us do something special for our volunteers!

As we work to close the gap on our $600,000 capital campaign, we have turned to the popular Indiegogo crowdfunding site to kick off a $15,000 mini goal which will allow us to build a brand new Volunteer Lounge and Training Space!

Watch the video here!

This space will be for our volunteers to warm up or cool off from the elements before heading out on the road to deliver Meals on Wheels. The training space will be used for all of our volunteers and their regular education sessions. All funds raised will go towards building an accessible washroom; painting, lighting, and finishing the space; as well as furnishing the space.

If you want to help us give back, check out our Indiegogo pageAgain, don't forget to check out the awesome perks you won't want to miss out on! If you have any questions about the campaign, please call Rosalind at 519-772-8787 ext. 225.

Thank You Golf Social Sponsors and Golfers

The most non-traditional golf tournament of the year was a success! From human bubble bowling to marshmallow chipping, the day was full of unique activities on the course at Rockway Golf Course in support of CSC.

We are so proud to announce that Golf Social raised over $5,400 for Community Support Connections – Meals on Wheels and More. All proceeds raised support CSC's Meal Subsidy Program which ensures seniors and adults with disabilities have access to the nutrition they need to stay in their own homes, regardless of income. We want to especially thank our sponsors and golfers for coming out on August 12th making the day a memorable one.

Go to http://golfsocialwr.com/golf-social-news/ to check out our official thank you. The picture above features the winners of snapd Kitchener-Waterloo's hole challenge in which the best picture made the cover of September's edition!  Want to see more pictures from snapd Kitchener-Waterloo? Join us at Cambridge City Hall on Saturday October 25th from 10am until 2pm to select your favourite broth presented by local restaurants and caterers. Creations are judged by a panel of local celebrity judges for the Best Soup Trophy, as well as the general public who get to vote for the People's Choice award using spare change.

Vendors include Jack's Iron Griddle Cafe, ChartwellOntario Christian Gleaners, Kiwi, Zoup Cambridge, Bingemans, our very own Meals on Wheels chef, and returning champ The Bruce, who has taken home the best soup prize three out of the four years the event has run. Will they take home the prize again? You'll have to come to find out!
