Welcome to the March edition of CSC's electronic newsletter.
This edition tells the story of Leejay Levene and how his family is so graciously sharing his legacy with us which will help us build our new Meals on Wheels home.
Photography is something we cherish at CSC as a picture of a smiling client says so much about the work we do. Thanks to Taylor Jackson's photography, we have new program photos of our clients and volunteers.
We are once again participating in the annual March for Meals campaign! Our local mayors and elected officials are delivering meals throughout the month and we couldn't be more excited!
Finally, as promised, CSC apparel will be available for purchase by the end of this month! Click here for more information.
We hope you take the time to catch up with all things happening at CSC in this March edition.
If you would like to be taken off our email list you can unsubscribe at the bottom or just hit reply and let me know. We will miss you!
|Leejay Levene Art Calendar
Excitement continues to build at CSC since announcing that we have found a new location which will allow us to build our own kitchen and co-locate our KW staff! One of the ways we will be raising funds to purchase kitchen equipment is through the 2015 Leejay Levene Art Calendar.
The Leejay Levene Art Calendar was created in memory of Leejay Julius Levene in 2007. Leejay tragically died in July of 2007 while undergoing routine wisdom teeth extraction in an oral surgeon's office in Waterloo, Ontario. A message from the Levene family demonstrates their passion for a project that will help everyone remember Leejay: "Leejay had a very kind heart and always considered the well being of others. For this reason, our family has decided to share Leejay's personal artwork by creating a calendar in partnership with CSC, a meaningful way for many people to remember Leejay".
Thank you to the Levene family for sharing your story and being so instrumental in this project. Thank you Leejay for your personal artwork as it continues to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
Calendars are $10 each and should be back from the printers in about a week when they will be available for purchase at our Cambridge, Kitchener and Waterloo offices. If you would like more information on the calendar, or if you want to buy them in bulk and make them available for purchase at your business, please call 519-772-8787 and ask for the Resource Development Team.
|Thank You Taylor Jackson
We want to thank Taylor Jackson for coming out to all of our programs to take pictures of our clients and volunteers in action. We especially want to thank our clients and volunteers for your cooperation. Everyone looks great! Thank you so much!
|March for Meals
CSC is thrilled to take part in the annual March for Meals campaign again this year! March for Meals is a North American campaign during the month of March, which seeks to raise awareness of senior hunger and to encourage action on the part of the local community. Meals on Wheels (MOW) delivers a nutritious and affordable meal, a safety check and a smile that enable our clients to live at home with independence and dignity. At CSC, hundreds of our dedicated volunteers deliver approximately 350 meals a day!
Our local mayors and elected officials are delivering meals throughout the month to help raise awareness about this essential program and we couldn't be more excited to have their support! Follow us on twitter @CSCMOW as we keep you posted on all the fun! If you'd like to come out to deliver Meals on Wheels with one of our dedicated volunteers to see what it's all about, call 519-772-8787 and ask for the Resource Development Team.
For those of you anxious to show off your love for CSC, the wait is over! Mark your calendars because from March 24th to March 28th, you will have the opportunity to try on CSC apparel in the most requested styles and colours. Come out to our Cambridge, Kitchener or Waterloo offices to place your order. For more information, please call 519-772-8787 and ask for the Resource Development Team.
