THE BC NEWSLETTER

Vol 2, Issue 1, April 2014

be informed, updated, and inspired

Welcome to the first edition of The BC Newsletter in 2014!

It has been a wonderful and energetic start to the year and we look forward to sharing some of our recent activities with you. BC Unlimited has experienced an unprecedented number of inquires and hits on its website. March saw the largest number of hits (55 000) on our website since its inception.

Louis was part of a UNICEF research study to evaluate community-based child care projects in four developing countries. Read more below about Louis' trip to Benin in January this year. A most encouraging follow up visit to the Hantam Community Education Trust in the Northern Cape was also conducted at the start of the year. Read More.

We are pleased to announce the start of a new Foundation Phase project:- Thinking Stars (read story below). This project has received generous funding from Capespan. Another new multi-year project is in the planning stages and we hope to provide more details in the next newsletter.

Two very successful BCP trainings were run during the first term- one for Metro Central Education District and the other for Metro South Education District. Read more about our mentoring visits to some of these recently trained mediators as well as other projects.

I am pleased to welcome Dianne Goldsmith onto the BC Unlimited team. Di has started to play an important role in a range of activities and has already made some notable contributions.

We would like to thank you for your interest in our work and welcome your participation in our forthcoming activities.

Enjoy the read.

Louis Benjamin.
