CodeGeek - Crafting the Responsive Web

A Message From Our CEO

As humans, uncertainty doesn't suit us well. It causes anxiety and concern, which are normal reactions, especially in times like these.

Recently, I shared a few thoughts with the Geeks about what I find helpful to focus on right now. I'd like to share those same thoughts with you, our clients and friends.

I find it helps to focus on what I have influence over. And the biggest thing we each have influence over is how we respond to our current situation (and any situation).
  • Be kind and generous to others.
  • Use best practices for staying healthy.
  • Be kind to yourself.
  • We are all experiencing varying levels of uncertainty. Be gentle, understanding and inquisitive in all communications. Everyone needs some extra kindness and understanding today.
Thank you for being a part of our CodeGeek family.
- Ron

What’s Coming In WordPress 5.4

Welcome to WordPress 5.4

WordPress 5.4 will be released on March 31, and as you can imagine, we’re pretty stoked about it.

Of course, there will be some improvements that will make us developers happy. But most importantly, there will be many block features that content editors (like you) will be tickled pink to see, such as:
  • Social icons block that allows you to add social media profile links to posts and pages
  • New “buttons block” that offers a ton of options when it comes to adding call-to-action buttons
  • Drag-and-drop feature that will make selecting a featured image a snap
  • And oh-so-much more.

💡Google Drive Pro Tip: Show File Location

Show file location in Google DriveIf you're a Google Drive user (like us), then you may have asked, "I wonder where this file lives?"

Here's how to find your way:
  1. Search for a file in Google Drive.
  2. Find it in the results.
  3. Right click and choose “show file location” to jump to the folder the file resides in.

Project Highlight

Wyoming Workforce Development Council (WWDC) - We partnered with Warehouse Twenty One to build a brand-new website for the Wyoming Workforce Development Council. The WWDC strengthens workforce development in local communities by bringing together players in both the public and private sectors.

Their new site was built using Gutenberg, and it comes complete with an easy-to-use editor for managing their council members. We recommend taking the custom-built interactive map for a spin.

Where In The World Are The Geeks?

David and his wife (sans kiddos) took a trip a few months ago to Puerto Rico, which included a tour of the Bacardi Distillery.

We had a blast in The CodeGeek Room during Fort Collins Startup Week. Ron and Ada took a walk on the wild side and posed in front of our jungle backdrop. (More pics on our Facebook page.)

“Because of you, prospective players were able to see who we were online, learn more about our organization and mission, and easily register for our event. Our site looks great and represents us well. Thanks to all your hard work and patient guidance over countless hours!”
