DECEMBER 2021

That's A Wrap!

It's been another full rotation around the Sun, and we can't help but get a little reflective (and a bit misty-eyed) this time of year.

We helped usher many new websites into the world, added new web tech to our repertoire, and said "hello" and "goodbye" to some very special Geekmates.

Before we turn our gaze to the coming year, however, we first want to make sure we give credit where credit is due for helping make 2021 one of the best years yet for the Geeks: YOU.

We are grateful for each and every client, partner and friend of CodeGeek, and we wouldn't be our geeky selves without you.

We'll see you in 2022!

🎉 Ugly Holiday Sweater Winner! 🎉

Happy monster wearing an ugly holiday sweater
Congrats to our Ugly Holiday Sweater Giveaway winner, Deborah S.!

The Geeks got together last week and checked out all your sweater-y creations. We adored every single one of them, but Deborah's sweater was simply to die for, dah-link!

With a $75 gift card to Fort Collins Marketplace in hand, Deborah can shop unique and one-of-a-kind Fort Collins favorites well into the New Year.

If you haven't made THE perfect holiday sweater yet, time is on your side! The CodeGeek Ugly Holiday Sweater app will be live all season long—and well into the New Year.

ICYMI: Our Website Story

Screenshots of CodeGeek's website over the yearsDuring the month of November, we celebrated the launch of our brand-new website.

As with most year-long undertakings, there are stories to tell about how it all came to be and the lessons learned along the way.

We shared many of these stories in the Geek Beat and also on social media.

But in case you missed some of them, we've pulled these stories together (plus a few new ones!) into our latest blog post.

>> Read our latest post and get our whole website story!

We did it! 🎉 Our new CodeGeek website received 1067 visits during the month of November.

Thanks for helping us fulfill our pledge and give a bootcamp scholarship to Women Who Code!

Project Highlight

Homepage header image for Artizen Photo PrintingArtizen Photo Printing - Located in Cheyenne, WY, Artizen Photo Printing specializes in photo restoration, print and film scanning, and film development.

The project deets:

  • website redesign with updated visuals
  • responsive site that also works perfectly on 4K desktop monitors
  • HTML and CSS code only so that their developer could handle the implementation
Products section on the Artizen Photo Printing homepage

Our fave feature: Pricing tables!

Not only are Artizen's product pricing tables pretty dense (information-wise), but also their layouts needed to be completely different from desktop to mobile.

Good thing we love a challenge! The result is an extremely effective and responsive pricing table—for any device.

Where In The World Are The Geeks?

Orange and blue sunset view from our building's rooftop
Chris took in the evening view from the rooftop of our office building. (We've confirmed with various sources that he is, in fact, not Santa.)

Looking at a giant ball of stickers through a window
Rebecca and hubs were stuck on each other during an anniversary day trip to Longmont to see Saul the World's Largest Sticker Ball.

Graden's pup as he places his blue ball on Graden's arm asking to play
This is Watson. He thinks Graden should stop what he's doing and play ball. Watson is a good boy.

"Amazing how the tiniest tweaks can make such a difference. Thanks for the thought and effort from you and your team."
