Succession Planning
Many clubs and associations will be holding their AGMs shortly, and some will experience a change of committee during this time. Succession planning is an effective way of minimising the impact of committee turnover, by regularly reviewing what it needs, planning recruitment and managing when and how this happens. This, combined with a thorough handover and induction, keeping accurate and up-to-date documents and records as well as a written position description of roles and responsibilities, will allow a smooth transition and maintain effective committee functioning.
The Homeplate website provides resources for clubs and associations on succession planning including; election and changing committees, planning hints, a committee nomination form template, Sample Committee Member Induction Package, position description templates and much more. You can find these resources under Governance on the Homeplate website, (but don’t forget to register first!).
