Softball Australia’s monthly newsletter designed to keep affiliates up-to-date with what’s happening in our sport around Australia.

This edition launches Softball Australia’s new affiliate recognition program “Homeplate Ladder,” promotes the 2016 Commonwealth Bank Not-for-Profit Treasurers’ Awards, advertises hot new grants available, the online National Affiliation Standards Checklist, Softball Australia Member Benefits Program and features a case study on the Alice Springs Softball Association.

Launching Homeplate Ladder – Softball Australia’s New Affiliate Recognition Program

Softball Australia is excited to launch its new Affiliate Recognition Program – “Homeplate Ladder” to identify, reward and recognise affiliates for the successful management and implementation of best practice.

  • Be recognised and rewarded for being well-managed and operating effectively
  • Score points for implementing best practice and achieving membership growth
  • Opportunity to achieve Homeplate status by scoring 81 points or more
  • Opportunity to score a spot on the Homeplate Ladder of top achieving associations nationally and in your state
  • Open to associations only in year 1 beginning August 2016; clubs will be included in year 2

The 2016 Commonwealth Bank Not-for-Profit Treasurers’ Awards (closes soon)
The 2016 Commonwealth Bank Not-for-Profit Treasurers' Awards nominations are closing on Friday 29 July, 12pm AEST so hurry to nominate your treasurer for their efforts. Treasurers who share the best ideas around recruiting and retaining treasurers, keeping treasurers up-to-date and sharing changes they have implemented to make things easier for their organisation will be in the running to win one of three $5,000 donations for their not-for-profit group.

National Affiliation Standards Checklist now online
The National Affiliation Standards have been developed by Softball Australia as part of its Club and Association Development Strategy, focusing on creating safe, welcoming and healthy environments to attract and retain members. Softball Australia would like all softball clubs and associations to complete the National Affiliation Standards Checklist to assess whether they are meeting the standard required of affiliates. The quick and easy checklist only takes two minutes to complete. Click here to complete the Checklist on the Homeplate website. Affiliates are encouraged to complete the checklist every 12 months.
