First Week of the Spring Share!




 
Share is In and ready for Pick Up! 


What's in the Share:


 

Onions or Lemons
Oranges or Grapefruit
Baby Spinach
Red or Sweet Potatoes
Broccoli
Kale
Cauliflower
Lettuce
Beets or Green Onions


 


Pick Up times are between between 12-7pm.



Spring Share Starts Today!

The Spring Share features Blue Sky & Crooked Sky Farm. It runs for 14 weeks and includes  items such as celery, greens, root vegetables, strawberries and more!

We have a handful of spots to begin today - but they will go quickly! You can sign up online or in the market. Anyone can start next week.

We take EBT/SNAP! All food items are eligible for purchase with a SNAP card.



We now also offer Double Up Food Bucks. Receive free tokens whenever you swipe your EBT card at the CSA - tokens can then be used to purchase fresh Arizona grown fruits and vegetables.


 Recipe:

 

Kale and Grapefruit Salad with Spiralized Apple and Onion

Ingredients

For the Dressing:

  • 3 tablespoons grapefruit juice

  • 1/3 cup olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon honey

  • Salt and Pepper to taste

For the Salad:

  • 3 ruby red grapefruits

  • 2 heads kale

  • 1 apple preferably a tart variety like Granny Smith or Pink Lady

  • 1 small red onion

  • 3 tablespoons grapefruit juice

  • 1/2 cup walnut pieces

Instructions

  1. Cut the grapefruit into supremes, reserving any juice that drips as you slice. Evenly divide the juice in two separate bowls, and set aside.

     

  2. In the base of a large bowl, whisk together all of the dressing ingredients.

     

  3. Remove the spine from each piece of kale and chop the greens into small pieces. Toss with the dressing and massage with your hands. Set aside while you prepare the rest of the ingredients.

     

  4. Spiralize the apple and red onion into thin noodles and combine with the remaining grapefruit juice.

     

  5. Lightly toast the walnuts in a small, dry saute pan over low heat until fragrant. Remove from the heat immediately
     

  6. Toss all of the toppings together with the kale and dressing and serve immediately.
