It's that time of year again! When we can't seem to keep up with all of the goings on & when we stay out later than we mean to...every night. Mardi Gras that happens this early in the year can feel like a chaotic blur that mixes with the past holiday season & makes us feel like we don't have time to settle into the New Year & get acclimated. This year, there is also the Lunar New Year which falls on Monday, February 8th, the day before Mardi Gras. With all of that upward energy swirling around, it can be hard to stay grounded. Once it all comes back down, we are back in class mode over here at Maypop.
We have another fun Body & Organ Exploration Class coming up in our series with Donna Caire on February 16th & Rachael Reeves will be teaching 2 classes on Using Herbs to Keep Your Kids Healthy: the first on February 27th on Natural & Herbal Approaches to Pregnancy, Birth, & Postpartum and the second on February 28th on Herbal Healing for Childhood Ailments. Jen Stovall & Janet Kent's Class for Health Care Practitioners: Herbalism as a Tool for Social Justice is on February 20th & is filling up quick.
Our first 2 Tea Time Classes were a blast & we have now explored the actions of 2 herbs through their tastes. Join us for our next one on March 8th. It is a fun way to build up your herbal repertoire through experiential hands-on tea tasting & conversation with like minded herb nerds.
Don't forget Phyllis D. Light is coming back for a full weekend of classes on the traditional systems of Southern & Appalachian Folk Medicine. The earlybird special for these amazing classes ends on March 1st, so make plans now! Alright, we'll see y'all in the streets! Happy Carnival!
