SPRING CLASS REGISTRATION IS OPEN!!!

HI FRIENDS, WE HAVE A LOT OF GREAT CLASSES COMING UP THIS SPRING THAT WE ARE EXCITED TO SHARE WITH YOU!
Check out our Spring Class Calendar below & click on it for details on each class & a link to register.

HOW DOES REGISTERING FOR CLASSES AHEAD OF TIME HELP TO SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL HERB SHOP?...

1. In order to bring in well-known herbalists from out of town, we need to have a certain amount of people committed to attending the class so that we can provide for the costs associated with hosting these high-demand teachers.

2. If we know how many people are planning to attend, we can plan ahead by renting a venue to accommodate everyone so that we don't have to turn people away.

3. We can spend less time on advertising and marketing and more time developing classes and supporting our community!

Thanks to everyone for registering ahead of time!

HERBAL GOMASIO RECIPE
Ingredients:
~ 1 c. sesame seeds
~ 1/2 c. seaweed (dulse flakes work best but you can use any seaweed & just break it up into tiny tiny pieces)
~ 2 tblsp. good quality salt
~ 1/4 c. milk thistle seeds
~ 1/4 c. nettle leaf
~ Optional: 1/4 c. dock seeds (these are growing everywhere right now, join us at one of our Spring Plant Walks to learn to i.d. them)
Directions:
~ Toast the sesame seeds in a dry pan, stirring constantly until seeds release their oil & turn fragrant & golden.
~ Remove from pan to cool.
~ Grind milk thistle seeds in a food processor, blender, or coffee grinder (that has never been used for coffee or all of your herbs will taste like coffee!).
~ Once sesame seeds are cool, mix them with milk thistle seeds and all other ingredients & grind.
~ Store in an airtight container on your kitchen table & sprinkle on your food!
~ This is a delicious mineral rich liver nourishing way to eat your medicine!
JANET KENT & DAVE MEESTERS OF
MEDICINE COUNTY  HERBS

Janet Kent & Dave Meesters from Medicine County Herbs and the Terra Sylva School are building a new Classroom/Apothecary building on their land & need your support!

Janet Kent, who many of you know from classes that she has taught in New Orleans and her zine, "Ease Your Mind: Herbs for Mental Health" and her partner, Dave Meesters are on the front lines of Community Herbalists. They are expanding their herb school on their land so that they can train more Community Herbalists (for free!) each year. Please think about helping them make this happen!

"It is because our herbalism serves and supports the greater community that we are seeking community support to expand what we can do." Janet & Dave
