HAPPY WINTER SOLSTICE FRIENDS! Read below for details about our Solstice sale, a recipe for Mulling Spices, pictures from our recent Herbal Intensive workshop, & a link to our first class of the New Year!
Please note we will be closed Friday the 25th through Sunday the 27th.
~ Blend spices together & store in an airtight container, such as a glass jar.
~ Pour one to two quarts of cider or red wine in a pot & add 1/4 cup of your Mulling Spices blend. You can add the spices directly or put them into a cotton muslin tea bag.
~ Heat the covered pot on medium low & infuse for at least one hour & up to all day if you want a stronger spiced flavor.
~ Strain herbs or remove cotton tea bag from the pot.
~ Pour cider or wine in a mug to drink now or add it to a thermos & take it out with you on cold nights.
~ If you are making mulled wine, add honey to taste.
~ If you are making mulled cider, add spiced rum, brandy, or whiskey.
~ Other ideas to add: fresh satsumas, rosehips, or elderberries.
