Run Day returns!

Mark your calendar for Saturday, September 10

On Saturday, September 10 at 10am, Old Bill's Fun Run will take place in person at the playing fields at Jackson Elementary School (JES) on Willow Street. Some of you might remember that Jackson Elementary School Field was the site of the original Old Bill’s Fun Run 26 years ago.

Old Bill’s will include a 5K and 10K run/walk, as well as a highly competitive Diaper Derby. Winners of each race will receive prize money to donate to their favorite nonprofits. Before and after the Fun Run, the community is invited to experience the Nonprofit Village featuring interactive, family-friendly activities hosted by 100+ nonprofits.

It takes over 350 volunteers to execute Run Day

  • Traffic team: Since the early days of Old Bill’s Fun Run, volunteers from Teton Science Schools have helped manage cars along the run/walk route, ensuring that both event participants and motorists stay safe.
  • Route team: This job is easy and fun: cheer runners/walkers on and ensure they stay on course. Volunteers will meet for a safety briefing at 8:30am at the LDS Church parking lot on East Broadway at Gros Ventre.
  • Photography team: Help capture the magic of Old Bill’s as an event photographer! Both amateurs and professionals are invited to join this fun and dynamic volunteer team. Various 2-3 hour shifts are available.
  • Recycling & Waste team: Help Old Bill’s meet its green event certification requirements! Volunteers will help event participants divert as much as possible from the landfill and utilize new Teton County municipal composting capabilities. Volunteer from 8-10:30am or 10:30am-1pm. Some heavy lifting may be required.

About Old Bill's

One of the most innovative philanthropic initiatives in the nation, Old Bill’s Fun Run is also one of the most successful. Twenty-five years ago, a generous couple, fondly known as Mr. and Mrs. Old Bill, envisioned a collaborative initiative to support local nonprofits. For the first time, organizations came together in an efficient, unified fundraiser that raised awareness of local nonprofits and community needs.

Since its inception, Old Bill’s has brought an astounding $208 million philanthropic dollars to our community. These funds are busy feeding the hungry, supporting the sick and elderly, teaching kids to read, protecting wildlife, building affordable housing, enriching our lives through the arts, and touching the lives of everyone in Teton County.
