Dear Foundation Friends,

Sometimes I lead with my heart. This choice does not always take me on an easy journey but it's rare that I regret following a heartfelt calling.

The great exchange known as Valentine’s Day is upon us, and I have a story to share with an opportunity for your participation.

The Story: Jodie Pond and Teton County Public Health have been hard at work on assembling Saturday vaccination clinics for specific designated groups in the coming weeks. She mentioned that they needed a way to feed volunteers who will work the clinics. And as quickly as the need appeared, the Jackson Hole Lions Club offered to provide food. People show up when needed. They just show up, leading from their hearts to deliver kindness.

The Opportunity: Would you consider offering an act of service or kindness this Sunday, for Valentine’s Day? When we do something kind and unexpected, it’s a way of seeing each other. I know we are tired, sad, possibly cranky about the state of things right now. But I believe we can turn the tide, even for a day – leave a note on someone’s car or doorstep, shovel a neighbor’s driveway, text or call a friend or family member, drop off baked goods or some groceries, pay for a stranger’s coffee or lunch, tell someone they look good in their mask, say a heartfelt thank you.

This community shows up when needed. At the Community Foundation, we see people give from their hearts every day. We wish you a kind Valentine's Day.

Warm wishes,

Laurie Andrews
