|Dear Foundation Friends,
I am just finishing up a whirlwind week that was more like a roller coaster ride. I am trying to understand how time moves so fast in the fall. I think it’s because we have two weeks of stunning leaves and then a sudden snowstorm.
I am hoping we are entering the season of understanding. Maybe it’s as easy as giving the car ahead of me a little room to maneuver (I do like the gas pedal). It’s tense out there and we are all juggling a lot of things.
Speaking of room to maneuver, the Community Emergency Response Fund recently provided support for two vital community efforts.
Teton Free Clinic, working in partnership with Teton County Public Health and One 22, asked for assistance to purchase flu vaccines wholesale, so they can offer 1000 free flu shots to community members without health insurance. We funded their request in full.
PAWS of JH asked for help with their PAWS COVID Pet Fund, which was established this year to support local pet owners with veterinary bill assistance and pet food vouchers. This has been a difficult year and a high number of residents who are ill, lost their jobs, or lost their housing have been reaching out to PAWS for support with their pets. A grant from the Response Fund will help keep pets with their people.
We have exciting news to share with you on Monday about Old Bill’s Fun Run. I will send an email with a video link to you then, so you can hear from me directly. I can’t wait!
Sending warm wishes on a cold weekend.
