Yard of the Month
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Hamilton on being selected for the recognition of Yard of the Month. The Yard of the Month sign is displayed in front of their home. Dennis and Veronica have lived in their home for many years. Their yard has been beautifully maintained throughout those years. Mr. Hamilton is often spotted on the mower working on the manicured lawn.. He has been known to mow his yard sometimes twice a week in the summer months.
They have a lush green, healthy lawn. All shrubs are trimmed neatly and flower beds are edged with brick borders to showcase their yard. Potted and hanging plants adorn their from porch, welcoming all! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton!
Apologies to the Hamiltons. I did not get a picture of the yard, just the sign, So please drive by and check their yard out- on the corner of 5th and Pearl.

On their recent Crime Stoppers report Beaufort County Sheriff's Department highlighted the graffiti sprayed on two buildings located in Aurora, right off of Hwy 33 and 5th Street. Caring citizens of Aurora power-sprayed the graffiti off of the post office and the seniors' building a couple weeks ago. Thank you so much for tackling the graffiti. Crime Stoppers is a partnership between the Community, the Media, and Law Enforcement.

Fish and Farm Festival
Check out this activity occurring during the Fish and Farm Festival! How exciting- what a great way to explore the waters around our area. Paddling the waterway at your own pace allows a closer look at the natural habitat of many birds and animals in our area. I saw a bald eagle just the other day on the creek!
Kayak and paddle board rentals, sponsored by the Boy Scouts of America, East Carolina Council, will be available at the end of Main Street at the Town Docks.
And if kayaking isn't your thing, maybe you'd like to participate in the Bicycle-to-Farm Tour, which will be Sunday, October 23 @ 8 AM. This is a fantastic opportunity for cyclists to ride past local farms and fisheries.
