Baked Goods Needed for Blood Drive, Donors Also!
Nutrien will have a blood drive on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 from
10 AM - 4 PM.  It will be held at Central Maintenance plant. Retirees and others are encouraged to come out and give blood to help them meet their goal. Just check in at the guard gate.
I also need your help!😄
The past 2 years there could not be any homemade goodies to help replenish the folks who gave blood. Now that has changed and I need some folks that would be willing to make some of their delicious goodies and sandwiches and donate them.
I will be able to get them before 5 p.m. Tuesday or I can pick them up Wednesday morning between 9-9:30 all at the library. You can put them in disposable pans or make sure your dishes are completely labeled so I know where to return them.
Contact Denise Toler at 252-571-9315 if you have any questions or need to let me know you're willing and able to assist. Thank you in advance.

Meals On Wheels is in Need of  Volunteers
Our instrumental person for our community Meals on Wheels distribution program is out of commission for awhile. We are looking for groups, individuals, organizations or churches to help out with this program while we are short handed.

Meals are delivered  to Aurora on M, W and F  only, usually around noon.  Volunteers meet the driver in the old Piggly Wiggly parking lot where the meals are transferred over to volunteer/s.  Hot/cold meals come prepackaged along with milk/fruit/juice/bread.  Currently, we have 4/5 participants of the meals- a couple in town and a couple out towards Edward. The folks out towards Edward are off on 33, most right on the 33 or just .25 miles off of NC 33. The route does not go past Old Sandhill Road.

It takes less than an hour to complete the route. You are more than welcome to shadow the current volunteers to learn the ropes. I volunteer a week at a time. I will deliver meals M, W and F of the week of August 22-26 if you are interested or have questions.

I know in other areas of our county, one group-  a church/group/individual will always deliver the first week of the month, another group/individual always does the second week, another group does the third. etc. Out of these groups, it doesn't have to be the same person for the entire week- so if you are part of a group you may only deliver meals one day a month.

If you are interested in helping out or need more information to take back to your group, please respond to this email and I will get you in contact with the correct person.

It was brought to my attention I did not give the complete phone number for Sherri. It is 252-229-2099.
The property between "The Chamber" (468 Main Street) and formerly SUGS or Mr. Archie Brantley's Hardware is private property. Please contact Ms. Sherri Hollister at 252-229-209 to request use of the property so conflicts won't arise. Shared use is good but must still be coordinated with Sherri. Thank you for your cooperation regarding this request.
