AFCYR Chairman Emeritus Calls On Arlington YDs To Condemn "Evil Corporate Political Speech"
Arlington Business Uses Corporate Money To Influence Public Policy, Subvert Democracy

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA -- Matthew Hurtt, chairman emeritus of the Arlington Falls Church Young Republicans, called on the Arlington Young Democrats and all Arlington liberals to condemn local subversive corporate political speech late last night:

"How dare a local business use corporate resources to attempt to subvert our political and public policy process," said Hurtt. "The Democratic claim that corporations are buying our political system with untraceable donations has hit home right here in Arlington. I call on all Arlington Democrats and liberals -- especially the Arlington Young Democrats -- to immediately condemn the Smitten Salon for their attempt to challenge the political and public policy process with their unreported resources. Democrats claim to want to protect our fragile democracy, and -- if so -- they must condemn this egregious act without hesitation."

The Smitten Salon used corporate resources to raise awareness for an opposition campaign for another local business in a series of communications to customers and supporters. Chairman Emeritus Hurtt encourages Arlington Democrats and liberals -- no, all Arlingtonians who want to protect our fragile form of government -- to contact the proprietors of the Smitten Salon by phone at (571) 527-0200 or via email at info@thesmittensalon.com.
