Dear <<First Name>>,

Thank you for your donation of <<Donation>> to the 1833 Just Transition Fund. Thanks to Obies' generosity, we were able to send $2,500 in pandemic relief aid to 57 laid-off workers and an additional $1,000 to workers facing special challenges.

The Just Transition Fund is a project of The Labor Institute, a 501(c)(3) organization. Because your contribution was received by The Labor Institute, it's tax deductible. We've partnered with The Labor Institute because it's also able to provide training and resources to the workers. Your contribution has been used solely for the Just Transition Fund.

We are deeply disappointed by how the Oberlin administration and trustees have treated these vulnerable members of the Oberlin community, especially during a devastating pandemic, but we are proud of how you and so many other members of our Oberlin family responded.

In solidarity,

The 1833 Just Transition Fund Board

In compliance with IRS Code section 170(f)(8), this letter serves as verification that you have received no goods or services in connection with the tax deductible gift listed above.
As always, please feel free to contact us with any questions and please keep spreading the word to other Oberlin folks.
