All Set for Cavan Day 2020!  Saturday 26 September #CavanDay

Cavan Day is an online celebration of the global Cavan Family, its people, its diaspora and everyone who shares an affinity with the county, and will comprise a special ‘Cavan Day’ show that will broadcast live at 5pm (Ireland Time) / 12pm (US Time) on Cavan TV, on Facebook, and on YouTube

Snap that: Life through the lens of Ireland’s 18- to 25-year-olds

Royal Irish Academy’s Social Sciences Committee has launched a youth photography call (18- to 25-year olds) for an online exhibition of photographs and captions that tell the story of things that help or hinder the lives of this generation of young people on the whole island of Ireland, from urban and rural communities.  Closing date is 30 September.

Aspiring writers should have their pens at the ready as the Irish Writers Centre Novel Fair returns for another year. Submissions for Novel Fair 2021 are now open until Friday 25 September.

This year's Culture Night will be quiet different from previous years, but none the less there's some very exciting events planned. 

Museum of Mythological Water Beasts : River Residencies : Call for Applications

An Invitation to Collaboration Artists Residential Opportunity, Ormston House and Limerick Culture and Arts Office, in partnership with Cavan Arts Office, Clare Arts Office and Tipperary Arts Office, are pleased to announce the River Residencies under the Arts Council of Ireland’s An Invitation to Collaboration scheme. We are seeking applications from artists who would like to meet and work with rural communities along the River Shannon in Ireland during the Spring and Summer of 2021.

The Empty Vessel by Mark St.John Ellis was one of the recipients of the Arts Council of Ireland Covid 19 Response Award. Part One of the film is now available to view. The album The Empty Vessel Soundscape in Ten parts will be released on the DeNovaDaCapo label The production was funded by Patrons and Cavan Arts and will be available in Chapel Royal Dublin Castle Culture Night 2020 Friday September 18 between 4.00 - 21.30.

Droimnín Destinations: This a new venture by Heather Brett, Kim Doherty and Droimnín Destinations committee are gathering Expressions Of Interest from artists  "poetry, film-making or music, sculpture or drama, circus skills or a choir – we need you all to be part of this proposal."

Irish Architecture Foundation Reimagine Placemaking Masterclasses series. Three live online training sessions will take place in September 2020 for architects, local community representatives, local authority staff, councillors, stakeholders, community engagement and public art practitioners,
representatives from cultural venues or organisations and others actively engaged in placemaking.
