Peace City Cavan

Cavan County Museum's Cross Border Project 'Connecting People, Places and Heritage' project has produced a new and exciting initiative called 'Peace City Cavan'.

The aim of the project was to work with children from Cavan and Fermanagh schools in creating a common city. Each building/house represents the individual, and whole city represents the community of children who took part in the project.

The names of each element in this City are based on “tolerance vocabulary”, key words like tolerance, friendship, respect, peace and teamwork.

The goal of this project was to create a common city, a 3D art installation made with recycling materials, the objects we use in our everyday lives but in an inventive and creative way.

This exhibition will bring together the work that the children have created over the past few months and display it as a whole unified city for the first time.

Peace City Cavan on display in the Teacher's Centre, Cavan on Saturday, 14 and Sunday, 15 December 11am - 5pm

Everyone welcome
