A series of workshops dealing with new concepts in contemporary arts practice, as well as open talks, site specific tours and performances will take place.

Cavan at a Glance

Cavan County Council will celebrate All Ireland Poetry Day by bringing poetry to the public on Thursday 4th October.

10am to 12pm – Young Voices

1pm to 2pm – New and Older Voices

7pm to 9pm – Distinguished Voices - Peregrine Readings with Dermot Healy and Cláir Ní Aonghusa

8pm to 9.30pm – A Distinctive Voice - Cafe Sessions with Seamus O Rourke

NYCI Artist in Youth Work Residency Scheme

Attention Youth Work Organisations, Artists, Young People. Applications for 2012-2013 are now open.

This Scheme is offered to youth organisations involving professional artists and young people as a means of extending and enhancing opportunities for young people to experience and participate in the arts.

The aim of the scheme is to encourage artistic collaboration between professional artists and young people. All applications MUST be received by 5pm on Friday, October 26th 2012.

Culture Night Cavan 2012
On Friday September 21st 2012, locals and visitors across the island of Ireland will enjoy the unique experience of Culture Night, a free night of entertainment, discovery and adventure taking place in a record 34 towns, cities, counties and islands in Ireland. Museums, galleries, churches, historic houses, artists’ studios and cultural centres will open their doors late into the evening welcoming people of all ages to taste and sample their cultural delights for free on the evening.
