Developing Creative Practice Across Borders: Tartu Centre for Creative Industries, Estonia

Four locally based artists are being offered an exceptional opportunity through the Leargas Lifelong Learning Programme, Leonardo da Vinci Mobility project to travel to Tartu Estonia for two weeks of artistic creative practice.

In Tartu, they will work with a number of artistic experts within a Creative Industries Hub. They will be able to use workspace resources and supports provided by experts in Tartu to improve their own skills and knowledge.

It will be an opportunity for the Cavan based artists to meet other experts in their fields. Artists include: Siobhan Harton, Alan D'Arcy, Pawel Kleszczewski, Kasia Zimnoch.

Kulli Hanson the Development Manager at Tartu Centre for Creative Industries says ‘I am very pleased to welcome the Irish guests to our centre’.

Kulli and her colleagues have developed a programme of activities for the Irish artists however she promises ‘it will not be all work and there will be time for them to explore the city and local area also’.

Developing Creative Practice Across Borders is an initiative of Cavan County Council Arts and Social Inclusion units and the project is co-ordinated by Gretta Mc Carron.

The project is funded by Leargas through Leonardo da Vinci People in the Labour Market.

Further placements under this project are taking place in July and August to Estonia and Belfast.  For further information contact the Arts Office at: 049 4378549. Further info
