Pray With Us

Praise God with us the way he has cared for our family through many periods of intense transition. Praise him with us for the opportunity we have to put down roots, make long-term plans and fully engage in our community.

Please pray with us for good health and pervasive joy to walk day-by-day through the coming winter months.

Please pray with us that God will provide a larger vehicle which will helps us conform to child seat laws among other logistical reasons.

Praise God with us for a successful first ever Movie Underground! Catch our next Snapshot and Story Update to hear more about the student Movie Underground club.

Jenn: It’s been a long time since we’ve had a dog. We had to say goodbye to our family pet when we began process of leaving the U.S. for the first time in 2011. Frequent moves and rental situations since then have prohibited adding any furry friends for our kids.

As a family we’ve talked and dreamed about the day when we would be settled enough to commit to another dog. Well, that time has arrived and for us that is a pretty big deal.  We took our time searching for the right dog and eventually welcomed a good old-fashioned mutt into our home and hearts.  She’s about 5 months old and 22 lbs now. She has brought lots of wiggles, love and muddy footprints into our lives.

Now I’ll pass the mike to Annora and let her share her perspective on this family development.

Annora: I am going to summarize how we got a dog. What I am going to read to you is a personal narrative that I made in school. I am very proud of it.

I am so, so, so tired of going to animal shelters! We are looking for a dog. We have been wanting a dog for years. Finally, we began looking for a dog!  But constant barking seems like hours when its really only minutes! Of course I like looking at animals, but barking, now that is tiring!

Anyway, we were thinking of adopting Karina, but she didn't like kids. Then we saw her, so cute and adorable, a Lab puppy! Her fur was coal black. It actually shines in the light! Her eyes are brown. I fell instantly in love with her. You can't resist petting her. Then we got her. Next we went to a pet store and bought toys, treats, food, dishes, a kennel, a collar and leash. Then we went back to pick up the puppy. The puppy sat on Mama's lap on the way home. Now she is doing fairly well.

Daddy suggested Hera and the name stuck. We love our new puppy, Hera. But I am still tired of barking!
