Sometimes it is hard to pick just one photo for our Snapshot and Story! May and June are busy months for us so this time you get three photos with brief descriptions.

Goodbyes come regularly for international TCKs and those that love them at this time of year, but it doesn’t make them any easier. Many students will travel this summer, enroll in new schools, or even move continents in a matter of days. When home is where your people are, goodbyes feel disorienting and deeply painful - a little like finding yourself out on the street.

One survival skill that we strive to teach our students is how to say goodbye well. Part of saying goodbye well means affirming the people that have been important to you. We were touched and proud when a group of eighth grade students put this into practice with the help of a few teachers and parents. They organized a goodbye party for Dave complete with a giant card full of affirmations worth treasuring.

One of our greatest joys as teachers is to come alongside our students as they learn to serve others. Dave’s homeroom (sixth grade) began praying for the son of one of the office staff at ICSB when he was hospitalized by a virus that attacked his brain. As the students prayed, they started thinking of other ways to help. They ran a week-long bake sale before and after school and during breaks. In the end they raised about $525 to help cover medical costs.

It has been a rich school year. We will spend the last days of school thanking God for what he has done this year, affirming those around us and saying our own goodbyes. I bet God has done some awesome things in your life too, and we're looking forward to hearing all about them when we see you in person this summer!

Home Assignment

The following is a brief update on our current needs during our Home Assignment which will begin in late June. We will add to this list as our departure date gets closer.

An affordable and family-friendly place to live in Wheatland, WY! A fantastic answer to many prayers.

We are currently praying for:

A buyer for Dave's motor-scooter.
Opportunities to visit churches, Sunday Schools, small groups and individuals to encourage them to persevere in the mission of God. We are planning these appointments starting in August. Please e-mail to set something up early.
Supplies to get us started in our apartment. Please e-mail if you are interested in an list of needed items.

Pray With Us

Please pray with us for our students as they say goodbye to friends and teachers. Pray that the valuable lessons they have learned this year will take root in the heart and become part of their character.

Please pray for our kids as they make big transitions. Many people they love won't be here when we get back. Annora's much loved teacher is returning to Canada and our younger two are leaving pre-school for good.

Please pray for stamina and presence of mind to finish the school year well and then as we turn our attention to moving. There are many demands on our time and attention, but we desire to focus on the most important and eternal things each day without wasting precious time or energy on worry.
