Budapest Bound

In addition to regular pledges, there is another way to help us on our way back to Budapest.

Cover some of our outgoing expenses like:
Transportation to Budapest
Hungarian language study
Household setup (we rented a furnished house last term)
Car to hold three booster seats

Through your generosity, God supplied more than $7,000 towards these needs last month! We are trusting God to provide the $12,000 still needed

Help cover our outgoing expenses by clicking HERE and selecting "Special Donation"!
You are invited to this very special event! We are honored to be partnering with Skylar Kaylyn at her farewell concert. We hope to see you there!

Praise God for a great deal on plane tickets and a departure date of June 14, 2017

Please pray for our family as we seek to navigate the transition back to Hungary. Please pray especially for good sleep.

Please pray with us that God will supply more financial support than we need in time to return to Budapest in June 2017
Audio Update Transcript:

Most people don’t plan on car trouble. Even though we have driven more vehicles than the number of years we have been married, it’s still surprising when vehicles quit working.

The most dramatic let-downs have involved pumps. A failed water pump stranded us on the way to the airport before our first visit to Hungary in 2012. We ended up in the last available rental vehicle in the area which could only be returned to the airport we needed to reach. We made our flight, God confirmed our call to work with Third-Culture Kids and five years later we are returning to Hungary for the foreseeable future.

On Monday, Dave was in Fort Collins helping a friend when the transmission pump died on the Blessed Suburban we’ve been borrowing. Our friend had the Suburban towed to a shop and loaned us his van.  We made it back to Wheatland just in time to pick up the school kids.

Dave called on another friend who has a vehicle trailer and this Super Friend hauled the Suburban back to Wyoming. Super Friend was also able to find us a rebuilt transmission at a good price and a guy that can pick it up and bring it to us. Oh, and one more thing. Super Friend also has a shop and all the tools needed to help Dave swap transmissions. Name well earned, no?

Car trouble is always a drag. Especially for a one-car family that spends time on I-25 like it is the best ride at the fair. Even so, there are reasons to be thankful. We are thankful that God has helped us get everywhere we needed to be and for friends to help and share with us.

We have had some awesome vehicles and some that required lots of time under the hood that we would have preferred to spend elsewhere.  When everything we have, including our time, is a gift from a loving father, we can trust him to give us what we need when we need it.

And the record stands: God’s Provision 2 – Pumps 0.
