December 2018
The Adalah family at its annual Board-staff workshop, Jerusalem, December 2018.
Dear friends,
2018 has been another trying year for human rights in Palestine/Israel.
From the flood of racist laws passed by the Knesset to the use of deadly force against unarmed protesters in Gaza, Adalah's staff has worked tirelessly to defend Palestinian rights on both sides of the Green Line from the growing injustices carried out by the Israeli government and Occupation forces.
Our resolve, however, remains as strong as ever.
In mid-December, our Board of Directors and staff held their annual workshop in Jerusalem to reflect on 2018 and address the biggest strategic questions for our work in the year ahead.
We discussed the implications of the Jewish Nation-State Law on our litigation and international advocacy; the de-legitimization of human rights by global right-wing populism; and the growth of new media to inform and engage public audiences.
Our team is now looking to face these challenges head-on – and with your support, we can have the resources needed to succeed.
2019 promises a myriad of cases that will require Adalah's urgent attention.
In addition to major campaigns around the Jewish Nation-State Law, annexationist laws, and accountability, we will be tackling: widespread home demolitions without judicial review; Bedouin children’s rights to education; attempts to disqualify Arab political parties and candidates from running in the 2019 elections; and many more human rights violations.
Your support today will give us a major head-start as we prepare our next legal, international advocacy, and media actions in the months ahead.

In solidarity,

Hassan Jabareen
General Director, Adalah
